  1. Yeah it's quite a worry. We only use Sentinel Spectrum for our guys.
  2. Yes whether you go for a blue or not make sure you get papers for BSL reasons.
  3. Lili is like that. She will run and play fetch in any weather with no regard to actually staying alive  She also loves to sunbake which I allow for a max of about 5 minutes, she has pink on her nose and it makes me nervous!
  4. We do, our guys get a mix of RMB's and dry with yoghurt, eggs, fish etc mixed in. I'll often change the protein type in the dry food :)
  5. \I know it should not be used on Collies. Not sure about Aussie Shepherds. Do they come in this category? Yes they can have the same mutation. We avoid it here though I have used it on my rats in the past.
  6. I would say he's just getting too much food. Now he's 7 months he won't be growing as rapidly as before and I also think 25kg is a bit heavy for an SBT? I'd reduce his food by a third or so (you can either feed once a day or split into two meals as you currently do) and see how he goes. His body condition will tell you whether he's getting enough/needs more/less etc.
  7. I have always wondered about this too. Or it's not worth paying to get them out because they are too old or too ill, or it's cheaper for the pound to put them down. And yes I have had people admit they don't want to pay for euthanasia so it's cheaper to surrender to the pound. Disgusting.
  8. Yep. Seen it over and over again.
  9. Same. I've been with all my animals, dogs, cats, rats when they've been PTS. I couldn't just leave them.
  10. Whether or not it was their dog, it's not ok for it to be entering your property constantly. I hope the council talk to them and Cookie recovers well. Just saw your latest post, that's great the neighbour is taking responsibility for their dog!
  11. I know Lili's birthday so we celebrate that but MoMo was a rescue so we've calculated a birthday for him (got him at approx 12 weeks so 12 weeks before gotcha day) that we celebrate.
  12. Personally I love all dogs. I have owned purebreds and crosses throughout my life and they've all been as awesome as each other. I do not support random backyard breeding, but that is more due to irresponsible owners, no health testing, dodgy temperaments etc. So I guess for me I'm happy with a cross bred dog if the breeder has followed all the usual "rules" in breeding for health and temperament. I don't believe purebreds or cross breeds are more or less healthy than each other as a group, I really think it depends on the individual dog.
  13. Ours dig for bugs and under the shady trees to make cool spots to lay in.
  14. 3am. Intense bits licking commences. Now I just say "give it a rest" and they stop
  15. I've always had dogs and always will. I have a baby on the way which wasn't planned but which we are really happy about and I am glad that she will grow up with dogs :). I don't think it's an either/or thing. I'd have dogs whether or not I had kids.
  16. I think maybe I'm the only one who doesn't do this! Lili has a pink striped collar, purple harness and pink and aqua lead, Mo has a red studded collar and a red harness but I didn't do it on purpose, his lead is brown.
  17. I'd allow her in the yard. Parvo can be spread on your shoes/by birds etc anyway. Also can you drive her to a different area where there is less parvo and get her out? There's no way I'd be keeping a puppy entirely inside until 18 weeks, more just for her well being and socialization than toilet training.
  18. My Mum is the same, she will often check on the hounds or stay overnight with them if we need to be away overnight.
  19. How is your girl today? Did you hear back from the vet?
  20. We feed chicken frames, chicken and turkey drumsticks, marylands, marrow bones, lamb necks and ribs and have never had an issue. In my opinion the benefits far outweigh the risks and our vet always comments on how good our dogs teeth are.
  21. I'd call the vet at least and see what they say. If it is pyo it can get very bad very quick so best to be safe. Is there a lot if it?
