Same here Aussie  Well Stan does.Never seen a dog so excited about having a poo.I can hear him thundering up the back stairs and I know he's going to be manic for a couple of minutes.Although Stan does have a poo phobia so maybe he thinks its chasing him.

Same here. Perhaps it's to do with different owners routines? Having a deep-chested breed, I've always kept my dog quiet after meals. Usually he is exercised and then fed about an hour later, he is ready to sleep after eating. Mad, crazy zoomies (complete with 'fast' ears) happen at other times of the day though! Quite possible, I always wait about half an hour to an hour after walkies to give them their dinner so by then they're wrecked. Fast ears  I see those a few times a day.

I wouldn't think toooo much about it. TBH all our pups have just been able to walk round the house as they please, been taken out for toilet every hour, or been outside when we are out and have adjusted fine. I haven't taken time off work though, they have been used to me being gone during the day from the very start. Not that I think that's a bad thing at all I think you will be fine, she is very young and still learning, you seem to be very committed and want to do the right thing, and there has been some good advice so far, relax a bit and enjoy her :)

I know! No way would either of my two jump down before finishing the food

Mine just snooze after having their dinner, we get more crazy zoomies after they've poo'd

Exactly, irresponsible owner thinks it's funny, what happens if the poor dog gets hit by a car, gets in a fight with another dog, eats poisoned food, or possibly bite someone if it gets scared or threatened. People on here shouldn't be finding this story cute or funny. I watched the news report. Aside from being less than impressed by this thief which (by the owner's own admission) is guilty of 'wandering at large' on multiple occassions, I wondered if the journalistic slant or public reaction to the story would have been the same if it was a GSD, staffy, rotty etc If it was a Bull breed, GSD, Rotty etc., the media wouldn't have run the story, or if they did, they would have been saying that dangerous dog allowed to roam streets. This is the double standards that annoys the hell out of me. So called safe dogs can do what they want. The only dog I have been bitten by was a Lab who was not confined in his yard. I don't blame the dog, but the irresponsible owners. Yep.

We feed turkey legs, chicken legs and frames, shanks and necks and pretty much any other random bone

No, they would be cooked and far too fatty.

Big Dogs And Injuries/ Health Problems
Dame Aussie replied to wantsapuppy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have an Aussie and an Anatolian and the Aussie is the one who has shown to be more likely to pull muscles/ end up limping etc because of her speed. I think it depends on the breed, individual dog and the breeder rather than simply the size. I've seen more small dogs with luxating patellas than giant dogs with HD, that's just my experience though. -
  That CC was a complete starvo! Love the Greyhound stealing the food and going back for the toy

I've never had a pug but have good friends who have them and I've decided we will get one one day! As with any dog a good breeder is essential, the pugs I have met are lively spunky little characters who would do pretty much anything for food  They are little fire crackers and some of the most hilarious dogs I've met! They do shed but have the smooth coat you are after. -

Wasn't Expecting That! Dog Took On Our Car!

We have Ninja Cat. Ninja Cat lives around the corner from us and we often see him on our walks with the dogs. Our first encounter with Ninja Cat was like something out of a terrifying cartoon. Walking peacefully along in the dark when, out of nowhere, Ninja cat burts out from his driveway, fur bristling, up on his claws and vibrates across the path. Scared the crap out of me. Last week Ninja Cat did just what you have described, we saw him from about 30 metres away and he just stalked along the path towards us purposefully until he got about half a metre away, when he arched his back and scattered. Crazy bastard. -
What Silly Things Is Your Dog/dogs Scared Of?

I play the harmonica and cannot do it anywhere near Lili, she hates the sound. -
The "general public" are a bunch of hysterical morons. Not everyone wants pit bulls or mastiffs banned, when were mastiffs even a part of these laws anyway???? Done with this thread, making me too angry.
-
So is it a mastiff or a pit bull, ffs.
-
Better ban them too now! Hope the kid recovers quickly, though I agree if it had really "attacked" she'd have more than some abrasions, but that wouldn't sell as many papers now would it.....

Barking When We Arrive Home
Dame Aussie replied to Dame Aussie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thanks for all the advice guys, I'll try everything and report back! Kajtek, it's really the neighbors I worry about, it doesn't bother me at all  I don't know if you've heard an Anatolian but he is soooooo loud  he also does this high pitched howl that I swear people can hear from miles away! I'll record him for anyone who wants it  at least I know my house is safe! Clyde, it's so frustrating, nothing stops him once he's on a roll, but we find praising him stops him the quickest *rolleyes* -
Agree. Makes me sick

To Report Or Not To Report...
Dame Aussie replied to Chris the Rebel Wolf's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree it should be reported, if it were me the dog would be getting a swift kick up the arse and the owner a mouthful. -
Second the rubber band used to hold it in, I used to do that with a collar I had.

People are more educated than ever and yet our behaviour is worse than ever IMO. After 4 years of working in a shelter and watching idiots dump their dogs on a daily basis and then seeing those dogs die, I honestly believe its a lost cause.
