  1. Yes, normally they will either drop the price or run a newspaper/tv story on the dog which gets it adopted pretty much every time. People literally fight over small breed puppies in shelters, I've seen it, I wouldn't worry about them finding a home.
  2. Did the dog have to have any extra surgery or vet care? Sometimes if dogs come in injured they will charge more to cover the care. It does sound higher than usual but I guess as Haredown said, it's whatever people will pay. Edit: can't spell tonight!
  3. Yes at that age they won't be completely toilet trained yet, although some pups do get it pretty quick. I would just continue doing what you're doing, and also trying Sandra's idea too :)
  4. It's funny, I have an Anatolian x and as a puppy he was massive. At first everyone at pre school was worried about his size but by the end they all loved him. He was much more gentle and polite than any of the little dogs and he would even hide between my legs when they charged over wanting to play
  5. Could there be a neurological issue maybe? Or could she be in pain? Have you had the vet or a behaviourist check her out? How stressful for you all
  6. He does  he looks like he's about to expire! My two don't like water, they hide when we get the hose out :/
  7. Fair point, I wouldn't ever call a border collie large but I guess people see things differently. I'd call a GSD, Rotti or Ridgeback (for example) large.
  8. Yeah I always wonder when they say it's a pit bull, then call it large. Pit bulls are not large dogs, so chances are its some type of mutt.
  9. Sounds normal :) just keep an eye on it but a bit of redness etc is normal. And agree with Ams, pics required!!
  10. not laughing at your frustration but your description. A lot of puppy classes can be a bit of a free for all, do you think if you spoke to the organizer they would be receptive? They shouldn't be encouraging that type of behaviour (Barney's) just because he may be little. Is the person running it qualified in any way? I'd probably go next week and see how it goes but if it's still the same I'd probably find another class, or have a chat with the trainer. I have some memories of our guys in puppy pre school, madness!
  11. Yeah I agree, I just wonder if so many people would have turned out if it was a dog.
  12. To me a cow IS just as important, I don't want to see ANY animal be killed and cut up, but that's just me. Would people care more if it was dogs they were cutting up for an audience?
  13. I think what you guys wear is quite nice, some of them do get a bit full on though! but as you say, why not?!
  14. Mosley had had to have the cone a few times for various injuries. He HATES it  as soon as it goes on he makes a sad face and starts wandering around head butting things *rollyeyes* He always gets used to it though and I think you'll find Hank will get more used to it overnight, he'll be feeling more awake in the morning too :)
  15. Agree Steve. I also question why they even bred him in the first place if they knew they couldn't use the genetics?
  16. I don't show and have always wondered why suits are worn rather than sportswear as it seems more comfortable and practical, is there a dress code as such or is it up to the individual?
