  1. I guess at worst it could get a bit awkward? Which is yucky enough
  2. Easy, be diplomatic but honest. Explain that you've decided you prefer a particular type and why. Most breeders don't find any difficulty homing dogs. It shouldn't be any skin off their nose if you don't take a pup. I'm not a breeder but I would do the same. Just be honest, if they take offense that's their issue, though I don't see why they would as you're not questioning their breeding/dogs :)
  3. How awful sorry to hear this maeby. Thinking of you
  4. Yep, I've done similar. People need to know they can't act this way without consequences.
  5. Yeah, I've had entire dogs and bitches and none have shown any of the behaviours mentioned.
  6. I don't feel sorry for her at all. A chiX chained to a crappy little plastic kennel at night in a known area of snakes, she's an idiot and the poor little dog paid the price for her stupidity. I agree. I've had chis and there is no way in hell we would have left them outside, for weather reasons, predators (some birds of prey, snakes etc), they're only a few kgs and little companions poor mite.
  7. If I were to get another male dog I don't think I'd desex. My current boy came from a shelter so he was already done.
  8. My dogs don't even go to dog parks. I must be the ultimate party pooper
  9. So basically because someone does something you, you "feel sorry for the dog" why are people so judgemental? Its like raising kids, everyone has an opinion. I see dogs every day in far worse situations and as far as I'm concerned if the dog is getting sheltered, exercised, fed and loved, it's all good.
  10. If it were me I'd try and get the pup back and just give them a full refund. Good luck, I'm sure there will be more advice.
  11. Mosley came into the bedroom last night carrying on so I followed him into the lounge and there was a HUGE white tail on the door. The big thick Hitchens book on the table took care of that. Good dog!
  12. Yup  I'm not good with impulse control lol
  13. We used extender leads with our two chis, if we saw people or dogs approaching we would reign them back in, which considering their weight of 2 and 3kg, wasn't hard :). I don't think I'd use one with a medium to large dog, but as with any tool, its how its used that makes the difference.
  14. This is similar to my experiences, they have been more bad than good so I avoid dog parks myself. I think if other people want to use them go for it, just be aware, which I'm sure most people on here are already :)
  15. Had to look  I have to say though that being scared of spiders is not irrational. I have been bitten (not provoked) and it turned into a huge infection so spiders and I avoid each other now.
  16. How stupid. People are ridiculous
  17. I agree with the judge, who lets their child approach a dog with a bone?? Just another example of people who would rather sue than just supervise their kids.
