I don't use them and don't want to but I can see reasons for people to use them, eg. For show dogs, injuries and the like. I've toilet trained my dogs and previous ones without needing a crate with no issues and they've all been 100%. I don't agree with crating for long periods of time however just for convenience.

We use sentinel too and I keep a pack of capstar for those times they might pick one up.

Snap kirty, I hadn't seen your post but that's exactly my experience too. 3 months is old apparently

IME people want kittens, the younger the better. I am constantly telling people 5 weeks old is too young

Aggression Between Dogs In The Same Household
Dame Aussie replied to Salukifan's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Very rarely here. I think we've only had two times when their faux fighting turned real. Even then it was all just sound and fury. I think one was over a bone and the other started from play that got too rough. One was broken up when they were told stop and the other ended with me flinging a pillow at them They can both be grumpy though and give the occasional "out of my way, you're annoying me" type snarl -
My Greyhounds Were Attacked Today :(
Dame Aussie replied to HazyWal's topic in General Dog Discussion
If the fact they have tried to kill two dogs and their owner with no provocation doesn't make them a danger, I don't know what their definition is. -
I remember you both and I'm so sorry to hear this You did the right thing by him. RIP Bosco

That's fantastic!

Dame Aussie replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
A fear aggressive dog that is actually willing to attack is quite likely to warn, warn, warn while you're facing it then lunge when you turn your back. I wouldn't risk turning my back personally. I'd rather be bitten on my arse than on any part of the front of me... T. I was just thinking that  -
Kill List Frustrations
Dame Aussie replied to HappyCamper's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Yes dogmad, I've seen so many people come to adopt a pet from the shelter and then ask if we can keep it while they go on holidays!? Wtf? -
So true!

In my experience landlords are usually really keen to do anything they can, its the agents who fob you off  -
That's like our big boy, he is just over 50kg and is a bouncer, loves to jump up and play rough etc but if we meet little dogs or older people he's very gentle and no jumping :) Well done Bruno!

Yeah I would use that as the main reason for talking to them, people respond better when it's in their own interest  -

Yeah I agree with this. Just have a chat to them about it. I'm sure you can find a way to keep him/her out :) -
What To Do If Your Dog Eats 1080 Poison
Dame Aussie replied to Canisbellum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'd use a basket muzzle to avoid any risk. Id be paranoid too! -
Wouldn't all of that be specified in the application?

Dame Aussie replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've been rushed before and stomped while yelling, the dog retreated very quickly thankfully. -
Both of ours seek it actively
