  1. I don't care what their policies are. Complete joke.
  2. I hope the guy that was attacked is doing ok
  3. I prefer not to desex at all if possible, but yes I would wait till she has matured first :)
  4. Agree, you sound like you will make a great dog owner and I'm sure you could raise a pup if that's what you want :) I still think rotti :) but also Greyhound (a neighbour of ours had his life saved by his Greyhound girl, they nay not bark a lot but they will protect their people). Also Labrador or Mastiff I think would be great too.
  5. Yup. Our day goes thus: Stick wet nose in owners sleeping face - brekkie - zoomies - sleep on couch (all day) - dinner - zoomies - sleep on owners (all night)
  6. Yes if it was as bad as it sounds they'd surely seize them, you'd think anyway.
  7. Mine are in on the couch as soon as they can
  8. I remember that, maybe those people will think twice now. Don't blame yourself Jules
  9. I've found people aren't wary of Aussies. They are too "pretty", they lure people to get a closer look instead. I wouldn't recommend one for a few other reasons either. I too would go with Black Lab or Rottie. My yellow lab would scare the crap out of people if he barked, until they saw him with his wiggly tail. Ahh ok, I've never seen them in the city myself, but I know when they're barking when I rock up I prefer to hang back because they put on their scary barks Even though I know they're just doing their big tough guard dog act, I must be a minority though :) I have some anxiety issues too and find my Aussie makes me laugh which relaxes me. He also loves cuddles so that makes me feel better too. My girl sounds bigger and scarier than my Anatolian when she goes off! I think a black lab or a rotti would be good choices :)

Yes my Aussie draws people in just because they think she's so pretty! People are never scared of her. Although she is brilliant on the anxiety side of things, she helps me a lot with mine :)
  11. thats gorgeous, in finnish too!
  12. No amount of socialisation or training will change a dog's genetic hard wiring for certain traits. Far better to select a breed that's been bred for what you want as an adult and train FOR it than to try to make a dog be what it wasn't bred to be. Besides, what one owner considers "bad" another will consider highly desirable - that's why you need to do your homework on the breeds that best suit you. Agree with this. It doesn't make sense to get a breed hoping you can train its breeding out? There are so many breeds, do some research into what you do want and find a breed that fits. Then you can worry about basic training issues like jumping etc.
  13. easy to see many factors that led to this. How horrible
  14. LOL. I remember the thread  I have found my dogs eating bits of bread that I haven't given them and came to the conclusion it was birds dropping it, could be the same here.
  15. Hopefully both landlords can help with either building a better fence or covering it somehow. Either way, their dog is the one causing an issue, but if I was you I'd keep my dog inside when I wasn't home in case it gets over again and does decide to attack
  16. Just looked, the silver heart is lovely
  17. I love the idea of jewellery :)
  18. Yeah, it seems people are just getting stupider. The mini aussies look stupid too. Stupid!!!
  19. Yeah I hear people say it isn't in Melbourne but everywhere in Melbourne we've lived has been mozzie paradise, so I use heartworm prevention to be safe.
