  1. I know this is a sad topic but that made me laugh out loud! In a strange twist, my cat does that nearly every night and I haven't rehomed her...... yet.
  2. How much do they shed? See that pile there on the bottom of the step? Now imaging that pile roughly the size of the dog.....
  3. I found these photos really relaxing. Until the last one that is
  4. I like Paul (Swiatkowski) actually. He has no people skills but he really cares about the animals. I just switched vets to him because he has a very good rep when it comes to them (he is a vet) When Tasmania recently decided to bring in new dangerous dog laws he wrote into the paper saying the new laws were discriminatory and would be a waste of time because it should be blame the deed, not the breed.
  5. Inspired by the looks of guilt and abandonment I get every morning Who is lucky enough to take their dogs to work with them? Working from home doesn't count!
  6. I saw these on Facebook. Lovely! How long has your hair been that colour though? I thought it was lighter?
  7. I got the "serious unknown intruder" bark the other night. Turned out there was a possum sitting on my fence.
  8. Ooooh yeah! But its not hard work to brush them and it doesn't matt. Still, it's spikey hair that may be irritating?
  9. If my camera was working I would be happy to take a photo of a shiba who thinks he is a lap dog There are lots of variation within a breed. I have one energetic numb nut and one calm and smoochy. (Or was, but thats another story) Breeders know their dogs and can tell you if any fit the particular personality you are looking for.
  10. Of topic, but Ams, what colour is that called? It is gorgeous! Is it a standard colour in the breed?
  11. I googled New Guinea singing dogs and they do come in black and tan
  12. New Guinea Singing Dogs? Which is not asian. Ooopps. Been a long day!
  13. Both are in the loungeroom with me. Wylie is being a good boy and watching Tv :D Loki is sleeping. Pity about the damn dog farts...
  14. Vet did think it was aleergies last time I took him. He doesn't scratch at all though and his skin isn't raised or inflamed?
  15. I think that little baby tiger snake looks cute :D
  16. He isn't hot inside, it is freezing in here! He just goes to sleep. Tonught he doesn't want to be indoors. I thought he might want to be with Wylie so I brought him in as well but Loki still wanted out. He is curled up on his bed (for once!) asleep now.
  17. Thanks for all the replies guys. He decided he wanted outside in the middle of the night. I just went to bring him in and he has gone again. I fixed one part of the fence yesterday so I think I can add jumping to his list of escapes. I just checked on him a few minutes ago! I left the front door open and he just came back inside. Now he wants outside again! Argh!! So for now how is the best way to crate train him and possibly Wylie? I'm sure there must be a thread on it somewhere in here?
  18. As it stands. Loki has a bed at the backdoor step(hone inside... him just waiting to see what happens... Meaning I am dealing with his "issues"
  19. Ahhh yes. That would be him. I thought since everyone else thought he had a problem then maybe he does? Apparently if you give him a bed, a blanket, an indoor shelter, the option of coming indoors and a warm secured place to hide out in... Not yet but we are working on "nice happy environments and safe places" ?
  20. Wylie has been up until now the "bad dog" He is enthusiastic, kinda dumb, and all bounce bounce all over the place. Now, Wylie has (finallty! starting to settle down and listen. It took him a looong time but he is starting to respond. So training that failed up until now may possibly work?
  21. I konw Hortfurball.. I like to think 8 is young and springchicken like. Mr creature comforts here ignores the nicely padded out laundry and the extra beds I have given him. Apparently he needs to suffer on the cold concrete and shiver the night away right down next to his bed... Crates may work? I think Loki will be ok with them. I just need to convince Wylie...
  22. Would like to add, Loki has moved on frommy pjs to my jumper. I am sensing mum issues. Normaly I have the Wylie tantrum who objects to extra attention to Loki. So far, so good. Wylie has been the wild card here. He hates being seperated from Loki but Wil chuck a tanty.... some times. Tonight, It's ok.
