It sounds like she knows something is out there. Kaylah does this too. And it takes AGES for her to come in as she has to patrol 30 acres first, go to the toilet, THEN come back inside. So now she comes in at night around 7 or 8, depending on how barky she has been that night and doesn't go back out until the next morning.

I have a toyota hilux. I got ute rubber matting put in so my dog's feet dont burn on the steel tray. I dont have any flash setup unfortunately, just a lead tied to the middle - she loves it. When its too windy she just lies down. If its raining she gets to ride with me inside but she still prefers outside. She sleeps in the tray most days or under it if its hot.

What a great idea!!! Unfortunately, I wont be of any help. I haven't walked my dog for over 12 months. Instead, she trots along behind me while I ride the horses down the road, so she gets about 4km most days of the week. Gees, i can even remember the last time i used the lead.

monelite, why do you want to curb that trigger? (just curious). Is it bad? Not having a dig I just really want to know why.

On The Effective Use Of Punishment
WildatHeart replied to corvus's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I agree with that set of rules. But i also agree with angelsun that 'there is a time to not use punishment when correcting and that depending on the dog, distraction techniques work much better". -
I used to go to obedience too and stopped going (i went for distractions) I kept getting told off for having my own commands (like drop instead of down) and for not saying 'stay'. I could only use their method and that was check chain only. No luring, no clicker, no soft method for the soft dogs, just check check check. I stopped going, not only that but they would make dogs come up face to face and make you check to stop then from looking at each other.

Great photos DA, I want a brumby! *stamps foot*

I just keep an old doona in mine. And whatever else manages to 'walk' in.

My girl is 2 1/2yrs old. She's only 30kgs too, and she's very very fine and lean. She took ages to fully grow up and fill out, at least 1 1/2yr. I feed her beef and it dones't cause any problems for her whereas as roo does, make her itchy and gives her the runs. I also give her chicken wings, legs, necks, frames and lamb outcuts, offal, and eggs and fish/tuna now and again with some Royal canin about two a week on top of the raw. I originally had lots of trouble keeping weight on her with a diet of chicken frames, wings and mince (i was giving her 900grams a day!!) but once i added the lamb offcuts its been easier (she's very very active and runs all day) THis is her just a couple months ago.

Do you have a crate so she can just stay inside? What about covering them in vaseline until you get more repellent?

New Strain Of Parvo
WildatHeart replied to ShesaLikeableBiBear's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
So do parvo vaccinations need to be done yearly, or every three years? I've only had the puppy shots and first yearly shot (and maybe 2nd year but not sure). refering to minky's comment (sorry to hear that about your puppys ) but can the vaccines cause parvo in young pups that just had the shot? -

What Do You Think Of This Raw Diet
WildatHeart replied to WildatHeart's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
mmm dont seem to be any bones. Only had a quick glance, i wasnt searching or anything and just came across it and they are locl. -
petcafe Providing your dog is fine with roo mince, what does everyone think about this? good, ok or poor.

I do this too, split it between my cat and dog. I also do it for my grandmother's three dogs. But when i open mine if i dont use it all i put it in the fridge until next time. ETA: and for what they are charging (on ebay) you can buy your own 6 pack for the same price as if you brought 3 lots of the ebayers kit, which actually works out a bit dearer. And you have no idea if the liquid has been tampered with, like watered down, out of date etc.

RC here as well. But i only use it a couple times a week and feed mainly raw.

K9 Force In Queensland

Was it the guy with Spotty? -
Oh crap, I bought one this afternoon :p Was only $20 inc postage though so if it's not good then no big loss. The seller I bought it from had it listed as 'genuine Furminator'... eta: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT Well I got my ebay ordered furminator and it looks the same as the one I brought for $120 from Petbarn - package is a bit damaged so I don't know if that means they have done some creative repackaging. It is in Furminator packaging. I guess I will know if it works the same when I use it tonight. Still, $100 cheaper than Petbarn, it has me wondering... Anyone else order one from ebay? It's the way they say it. There are two types. There's the Furminator - the real one, then there's the deShedder - the cheap copy. In the ebay listing you can notice that they call it the 'Furminator deShedding Tool'. I dont think anything is different betweent the two either (except the price) and my deShedder does a great job.

I was up the back with the shepherd. I was sitting next to Sparky in the morning and Seita in arvo. And that lady with the two border collies (chook and something else) was on my right. THere must have been more dolers than not there. -

I think I really only spoke to 2 people from DOL (Seita & Huski cos they are the only 2 I recognised), it's really hard cos you look like a right d*ck going around to everyone saying "Are you a DOLer?", most people must look at you & think "Are you one of the crazies?" ;) . ETA - Ohh & of course BC4Me is from DOL, but she doesnt count cos she's crazy and a DOLer  ETAA - it's easier too when you have an easily recognisable dog ie Daisy being a Beagle & Jarah being a kelpie, also when you are made to get up in front of everyone & do something (Daisy's demo & our dancing routines ). Yes, one of the crazies. Your dance routine was great! i didn't recognise you either, only recognised Seita, Huski and whats her name? With the ridgebacks? Me shy too. -

Remember I told you to take the Logan motorway! I am allowing myself 1.5 hours from the start of the logan motorway to CT so that saves you half an hour at least. And I reckon you won't need more than 1.5 hours from toowoomba to the start of the logan motorway! See I just save you an hour of sleep!! LOL thanks -

mmm i think i'll leave myself a good 4 1.2 hours. 30mins to toowoomba, 1hr 50mins to Brissy, and 2hr to the CT -
Fetching a beer from the fridge was mine. Below is a video from day three. She's not my dog. By day six (20mins a day) she could do it with distractions like meat and other food in the fridge and from various parts of the house. She had never had any sort of training (other then sit) and she picked up the clicker quite quickly. ETA: I know she's fat but her owner doesn't think so.

I'm like Teebs, didn't take up much of my time. Done it two years ago and still haven't watched a couple of the dvds. Read the course notes sent that same day and taught complex skill in three days.
