  1. I found one two days ago on Aprils back leg! I thought it was a splinter, so I tried to get it out... The stuff that came out, was not a splinter! Any chance you know what causes them on dogs?
  2. I am in love with the picture of Duke! OMG, he is handsome! Bec, I have two of those bundgee things! I got them at the expo. Ok, three more photos. Earth...
  3. I agree about not assigning all responsibility to the Council. But I don't blame someone for not leaving collar on at home either. Compulsory (and well enforced) microchipping should be the standard everywhere, IMHO. I tend to have my dogs collars on when we are going out. At home, they are 'naked'. April ended up in the pound once... I take the blame for being too trusting... But I was lucky enough to have the pound call me to say my dog was on the way there. God, when I got there... It was quiet, until April heard my voice. Omg, , she could have brought the house down. She sounded like she was getting tortured. The people at the pound said she hadn't made a sound until I got there. :D
  4. Poor dog. Hope the owners are coping a bit better knowing their dog made it through the night. Fingers and toes are crossed here for a speedy recovery!
  5. I am willing to help out with a either GSP, Pointer or Gundog one next year.
  6. I only cared for 3 when I worked at a boarding kennels, and there is 1 that lives near me. They are just beautiful dogs.
  7. It was a blah day about 3 days ago.. Slow, I know. 3 Pointers playing in the rain, little Shaun and I lying on the floor inside.
  8. I thought these dogs were to stay on lead, until they had stopped the offender, and giving him a chance to come out, before letting it off. And yes, it is only fair that it bite the guy. After all, human or animal, no one likes to be attacked, and not at work. Works evil enough.
  9. I know the feeling.. So often I walk past the local bill board and there is a "wanted: male dog for my female" sign.. Of course it either says "want to have a litter to keep a pup when my girl has passed on" or "to make my girl calm down" It makes you wonder why they don't get them desexed to 'calm' them down, and also, how old is the bitch they want to breed with!
  10. I went yesterday, first time I have ever gone. I rather enjoyed it, but have nothing to compare it too also.
  11. I can't believe he did that! It is hard to pay vet bills when you don't have all the money in the world... But if your dog needs something removed... Then get it done... If its something small, ear infection, small open wounded, I'm sure a number of people are able to attend to it... Well, most people on this site anyway! We lost our GSD, Kelly, to the dread Cancer in May last year... Basically, the vet did a blood test on the Saturday, we got told she had cancer, we didn't want to know how much, where or how long she had, so we figured worst came to worst we would put her to sleep.. She was then PTS on the Tuesday as she started bleeding out of her ear, and nothing could stop it, she became ill looking, and had no energy... RIP Kelly. Best pound dog we have ever had.
  12. Poor Mow! Great photos guys! Great Eek! one Ash! Rozzie, that sky is purdyyyy!
  13. Just saw you now have teacup size! :D Sounds like you have all basis covered!
  14. What a pretty rose! Its just stunning! OMG! The baby elephant!
  15. Maybe it was to keep the prefix/ breeders name clear, so other breeders don't find out about this 'little' hick-up in the bloodline? The only animal thing I donate to is Pets Haven. Because I like the work they do. The last time I went to PP, I saw a GSP cross Brittany... I asked the prize, because I was trying to prove something to my boyfriend, and they told me both parents were papered, but it was a 'accidental' mating! My boyfriend thought it would be cheaper to buy from a pet shop, so I asked the prize, $600, I told him it will probably have unknown health issues, and temperament could be all over the place, and then told him the gerenal cost of a registered breeders pup, health test are done, all the goodies you get too and he know only wants pedigree purebred! By 'goodies' I mean pedigree papers, diet sheets, care sheets, vaccinations, micro shipping, viewing a parent or even both parents, breeder support for life, puppy photos, known temperament of parents, etc, etc, etc. Converted another person to registered breeders!
  16. I am with you Kirty... Just another way for PP to grab attention and now they will have 100's of calls regarding Harry... Not bad PR.. Yep wonderful caring Pets Paradise selling pure bred puppies from regsitered breeders and even making sure they collect donations to fix heart conditions.. Makes me want to rush off and buy a puppy from them now NOT Don't forget, if you donate, theres a chance of winning a prize! Are they going to use the donated money to buy the prize?
  17. Oh! Your poor dog! My dogs pick fruit off the trees. I have no way of stopping it unless they are supervised, but I can work anywhere from 2 hours to 7 hours a day.. Tomorrow I'm at work for 13, although am only working for 11 and a half...
  18. Beautiful! You captured NZ very well! God I want to go back now.
  19. Hey Colliehound!! I'm dying for a Toyota Hilux (can't remember the series, but my step dad has one...)! Exactly the same thing as the Nissian Nivara STX! Perfect for the dog/horse person, or even both!
