What Strange Tastes Do Your Dogs Have?
Pointees replied to mutt lover's topic in General Dog Discussion
My dog picks plums off the fruit trees in my backyard and eats them. She leaves the seed. :D I tend to give mine a carrot each once a week too. They love apples, bananas, rabbit poo, etc Oh! One of them eats the rabbit food too (chaff, rabbit pallet, sun flower seed mixture) They love pears too! -

Leaving More Than 1 Dog At Home Alone
Pointees replied to all that glitters's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have my Pointers crated inside, malt cross running around the house and the GSP outside. I tend to say by to the GSP, and he does whatever, not a sound from him. I say bye to the two Pointers, walk to the front door, tell the malt cross to sit, and stay, and he does until the door is closed (we have boards so you can hear if he moves ), he then runs to the window and watches the car pull away. But not a sound from any of the dogs.. -

Wolfsong!! Its so pretty! -
I haven't had much trouble with April, I just gave up due to working. We do some training on our walks, but don't do obedience classes anymore. April also isn't food motivated. Alexis has been taught to stack and doesn't sit... Kaiser is EASY to train, loves his food and loves attention. He is willing to please. April and Alexis are Pointers, Kaiser is the GSP.

He did. Prancing around with it.

Sorry, Offtopic but what do you call GSP's in conversation? I saw a beautiful solid liver pup at the park and was talking to his owner and couldn't bring myself to say "I love the liver German Short Haired Pointers"- it was such a mouthful to say!! ;) I say GSP most owner's should in theory know what you mean ;) One of the bosses at work lives with his mate and her girlfriend and they have a GSP, in conversation the other day I said "how is such and suchs GSP doing" and he goes "whats a GSP" ;) when I told him it was an abreviation he said well that makes sense German short Haired Pointer is quite a mouth full!! Pandii, what about a Cocker Spaniel, or Springer Spaniel? You learn something new everyday, he learnt a new name for the breed.

I'm with SB. I say GSP. ;) If someone doesn't know what it is, I then say "German Shorthaired Pointer", if they still don't know, out comes the camera. ;)

Love it Rozzie! Crazy Daisy, it suits, well I think it does. -
Just saw it on the news too! Staffy was happily running around with the dead snake.

Pointer, Vizla or GSP. My Pointer girl is great, got another on holiday, who is great too! Just got a GSP 10 month old boy and have found him to be a bit more loyal and more focused on me regards to training.

Have you considered the rare, 'long eared guinea pigs'? We had a few of these elusive creatures when growing up (in Brisbane). They are a bit bigger than guinea pigs and have long ears. They look remarkably like rabbits actually... eat exactly the same, have all the same needs, actually, if you didn't know any better, you might actually say it was a rabbit... but they weren't. They were 'long eared guinea pigs'. ;) They sound weird! If you weren't in QLD Ams,I would send Flick along for a holiday. ;) I've got 4 rabbits here with the three gundogs, so a holiday might do Flick well. ;) Thanks JS! I feel like I did a half decent photo. Bring on more action shots for the last 3 (?) days on this month. Love the eyes PooCow, and the bees shots look amazing. -

Stella looks awesome! I want one! -
actually they are private units ,though not fully self contained commonarea is not fenced as yet and may never be, but I'm listening ,as is it is you must have control of your dog at all times Just going to help a bit. A small fenced off area would be handing for some. I have the problem where my Pointers go nuts, and a secured offlead area is a must. They also don't do any toilet business on lead. Its so painful!

I have 4 doggies. 2 Pointers, a GSP and a malt cross... We have two kennels and two raised beds. Two dogs sleep outside. One sleeps on my bed, in her crate or walking around the house during the day and the little malt cross sleeps on my mums bed. The two that sleep outside have the kennels and raised beds, but tend to sleep in the same kennel or on the same raised bed. Personally, I wouldn't have thought they could manage it. Sorry, I'm not help with the older dog stuff, my oldest is 3 years.
