My 2 have access inside and outside 24/7. At the beginning, I will shut the bedroom doors and block certain part of the house, then with more trust, I slowly let them have free rein of other parts of the house. Now they have free rein of the house. I do walk them and tire them out before I leave them too, leave them with a treat so they won't be destructive. But, I'm lucky because my 2 aren't destructive.

Charlie and I bonded pretty much as first sight. There is no denying that he is my dog and I'm his person. Emmy, I loved her before I got her, but bonding with her took a little longer (but a few minutes ). But, as she gets older and more mature, I'm falling more and more in love with her (and i didn't think that was possible). Funny, Mr CW told me yesterday that he never thought he could love Charlie or Em as much as he did.... but he absolutely head over heels with Charlie and Em.

This I love walking my dogs, together or separate. Charlie takes him time on walks to smell flowers and stuff. It's always relaxing walking with him, taking our time. Emmy walks nicely on the lead now, so our walks are very enjoyable. They makes walking interesting and fun

The Sibs are forever tricking Mr CW and each other. Emmy uses her strength and speed to get what she wants. Whereas Charlie plots and plans.

I bought a tiny collar and lead from a $2 shop when Charlie was a puppy... by the time it wore out, he was big enough for a Rogz collar and he has been wearing that one since.

I have one of those pen. If you are getting a lab, they aren't strong enough for a lab though. Plus, they can chew on it. I wasn't a fan of crate training at first, but now I love them Charlie sort of crate trained himself... he always loved the crate. Then, later one, he helped me crate trained Emmy.
