  1. Hi, I iz Skeeter His modeling shot Being cute is hard work
  2. Thanks guys :) He is a complete sweetheart with a nerve of steel (he kinda has to be living in my house hold). So far we have discovered he loves playing, he loves exploring in the backyard, he loves going on a walk (and he walks very nicely on the lead), he loves playing with Emmy and likes sitting/sleeping next to Charlie (because that's what Charlie allows). He has fitted into the family really well. Charlie and Emmy are really warming up to him, Emmy and Skeeter had a crazy and mad session of zoomies in the back yard this morning involving tug, growls and barks. Charlie doesn't growl at him as much and even allowed Skeeter to lean against him this morning, while they are napping on the couch together. Mr W is now very very excited for the weekend so he gets to spend time with the baby of the family. He has completely fallen in love with the little fella and I have to give him puppy updates once every hour. He did the same with Charlie and Emmy too.
  3. Skeeter is a Samoyed :) Em is a Japanese Spitz though :)
  4. The Kid is a charmer.. there is no doubt about that. @ kisha09 - Mr CW thinks that's where I got the name Skeeter from, but it's not.
  5. Thanks everyone He is pretty awesome :D
  6. Sooo, after a long wait.. Skeeter Wilkins is finally home!! And The Kid (it's what Mr CW and I start calling him) is beyond awesome and Mr CW and I are besotted with him. Thank you so much Bjelkier and crew for him. He is everything we want in a pup and so so much more. He is a very confident and happy boy but he has no problems telling us if he doesn't like anything. Took him to the vets and the vet took a while listening to his heart because Skeeter was telling me how unhappy he is to have to stand still and having something pressed against his body. Yeah, we won't discussed what an awful bad backseat driver he is... Here are some complusory photos: Mr CW and Skeeter first picture together Backseat of the car Me exhausted by the end of the car ride home but Skeeter is happy because he is finally at the front and has the air con blowing in his face (after taking him 15 minutes to get into the most comfortable position too) Skeeter is finally crashed after a huge day. The Kid is settling in a lot faster than I thought. He has moments where he whinges looking for her littermates, but he can be distracted by playing with him. He loves exploring and HATES being put in his pen. Even though his pen takes up of my living room and everyone is wondering around and he can see us. He has to be out and about and mingle with the rest of the family. He loves playing and taking his toys back to his bed. Loves being outside and he goes outside to go to toilet.. hope this continues (fingers cross). He sleeps in the bed with us and would of slept through the night if the neighbours didn't wake us up. Emmy is starting to like having a little brother, they had some zoomies, tugs and play session together.. Skeeter is getting use of her growls and barks when they play. He barks back now. He follows her around the house and she taught him how to use the doggie door and the ramp (yes, the clever kid picked it up straight away!) Charlie is still weary of the boy, but The Kid loves him. Very very respectful towards Charlie. Any chance he can get, Skeeter will be next to Charlie. Charlie is warming up to him because this morning, I saw Skeeter snuggling to Charlie and Charlie didn't growl or react to it. But Charlie saw me watching and he walked away. Anyway.. this is the first official day home for the Kid and he is awesome. If he is like this the first day, I wonder what he will be like when he if fully settled? Oh.. he is a MAJOR sook We are simply nuts with him.
  7. She could be possibility going through a fear period.
  8. If this a new behaviour.. I would go get him checked out at the vets. He might be in pain and you don't know about it, and he it hurts more when you carry him.
  9. Emmy likes to play after eating but not really zoomies. Charlie just chill after a meal.
  10. Why don't you just feed your dog just raw?
  11. No, I don't. Wouldn't it still be considered cooked bones?
  12. OMG.. cutest thing I've seen all day. Love the name too.
  13. I understanding completely what you're saying. But, I think once you get that pup in your hands, those fears will slowly fade away. I will be very careful on choosing another CKCS and research the crap out of the pedigree. Do you know the cartoon 'Pinky and the Brain'? That's Charlie and Emmy. They are absolutely opposite like day and night. But, they gell. Emmy needs Charlie's calm and confident to not freak out, whereas I think Emmy was put on earth for Charlie. Emmy gets his moving by annoying him and always getting him to play. I love The Sibs together. They are made for each other. Thank you CW EW! Both you & Jed agree getting another Cavalier is the best choice for me and I do 100% agree. I just thought I would ask the question to see if there was anything on par to these little guys but I'm not sure there is! That's wonderful the Charlie & Emmy are little kindred spirits! That's all any owner could ever want for their pets is for them to find their match. :D It's what the heart wants. Don't let the fear keep you from listening to it. You won't be happy otherwise.
  14. Thanks for the suggestion Boronia :) People have often told us to get him one of those but I don't think it would be good for him. Even though they look awesome and would be easier for him to get around, i don't think it will help him (mentally). If he starts using it, he will get to dependent on it and he will start getting lazy to walk on his own or get around himself. It's really important to us (and him) that he still tries to use his back legs and keep active that way. It's also hard for him to go to the toilet because he needs to squat when he does his #2 and he will pee on himself if he stands straight peeing, and on top of that, those things will hurt his chest too much because he will put all his weight on his chest, and I'm worried that will cause issues. Saying that, I really like the back brace leash thingy. I've been trying to make one for him using silk scarves and we haven't found a design that suits Charlie just yet.
  15. Charlie isn't that nice...
  16. I really love watching a confident dog in action.. they don't have to act tough... they are just tough!
  17. Just another one of The Sibs playing
  18. My brave and fearless boys is happy to wear a bow Typical look Charlie gives me
  19. He could be plotting for World Domination..

  21. I think you should get another CKCS. That's what the heart is telling you, isn't it? The chances are slim it will happen again.
  22. No, it doesn't mean it's 50/50 I have a CKCS x Shih Tzu. Mum - pure CKCS and Dad - pure Shih Tzu. He looks (mostly) like a CKCS but he is nothing like a CKCS. His temperament is mostly like Shih Tzu. You simply don't know what you are going to get when you get a crossbreed.
