  1. I haven't been here for a while but I just thought to let you all know that Charlie is still around.. he turned 4 years old on the 13th February, and yes, he got really spoiled (well, more so than usual). Charlie is still full of attitude and bossy as all hell... god, I love him to bits!! He is loving life and still plotting for world domination :D add some recent pictures of Charlie On the beach last weekend I'm getting him ready for the wedding
  2. 1. it's a common thing with all breeds not just poodle x's :D 2. go the vet and see what the cause of the itchiness is... could be anything.. grass, dust, fleas, certain food etc. I know a few dogs that are allergic go chicken, so changing diet of the food doesn't solve everything
  3. My 5 months old Samoyed has always drank a lot of water, but to me it's a lot because he is a bigger dog and he love water. Plus, he is a crazy thing and very energetic, so I think he needs it. Especially with the warmer weather now, he drinks a bit more. As for peeing.. at 12 weeks he went to toilet 1 time every hour, and he gets really easy distracted that he will pee and stop, investigate, pee then stop, investigate more. I had to teach him how to pee on command.. If you are still unsure go to another vet. PS: I have a CKCS x that drinks water like a camel. Only have one massive drink before bed and that will last time for the whole night and day. He will have 2 or 3 drinks of water a day if it's been a very hot or very active day.
  4. I've stayed here with my 3. It's a lovely place but the owner lives there too. She set the back house to a guest house. But there is a private garden for the dogs :D http://www.takeabreak.com.au/Gungahlin/CanberraandSurrounds/Tea-Gardens-Bed-and-Breakfast.htm
  5. With Charlie and Emmy.. yep. They definitely know the difference. With puppies, they are tolerant, firm and patient. When we got Skeeter (my now 5 months old Samoyed) home at 8 weeks... both of them put up with a lot. They teach him manners and Skeeter use to get told off everyday but the things Skeeter gets away with, an older dog will never get away with (especially from Charlie).
  6. that is the cutest thing! Stan
  7. I have to agree with this. It's hard thing to see your dog kill another animal but it's what they naturally do.
  8. I bonded with Charlie from day dot, he is my heart dog. I'm in love with Emmy but she bonded with Mr W first. Emmy was hard work, it wasn't until she was about 1 years old when I could sit back and really see what an awesome dog she is. She is such a sweetheart and I didn't realise that she has also bonded with me, because I always saw her as daddy's girl. I was just telling a friend today that now that I have Skeeter, how much I have falling more in love with her. She is such an amazing girl. You would never guess that she was an evil child as a puppy. Our bond is really tight now and I love that. Skeeter is my baby. In the past few weeks, I've been noticing that he seeks me out and is trying hard to communicate with me on telling me what he wants. He is just a sweet boy and it's not hard not to fall in love with him. Skeeter is definitely becoming a mama's boy... for the short time we've been together, I'm very happy.
  9. Dogs gets grumpy when they are in pain and don't want anyone near them. Charlie is like that with Em and Skeeter. When Emmy isn't feeling great, she has her bitch pant on which means, she wants nothing to do with Charlie or Skeeter. We have quite a few dogs that have stayed with us and my crew always remember them. Even if they haven't seen them in a year.
  10. people are just weary I guess. I'm a believer that you should only get a dog for yourself and not for your dog. You will be the one that's training, feeding and caring for the dog... so yeah, you should have to think if you have the time and committment for a second dog.
  11. Naww.. Charlie and Emmy are chalk and cheese. Charlie is my tough guy with a lot of attitude. Full of himself and believes that he rules the world. Emmy is my total sweetheart, she is such an airhead and she never put a paw wrong. She is a very soft dog. They really love each other. Now, you throw in Skeeter.. he is the goofy, happy, easy going, laid back pup who absolutely adores Charlie and Emmy (and Charlie and Emmy loves him too).
  12. Charlie is mine. Emmy's Mr W's little girl. Skeeter is mostly mine but we always says that Skeeter really belongs to Emmy.
  13. If she is doing well on Advance, then why change? But if you do want to change, do the change slowly..
  14. This describes my 4 month old Samoyed puppy all day and night.. he doesn't preference on when he is crazy :D But Skeeter can train for hours because he finds training is all fun.. it's all about food, tug, cuddles :D
  15. Naww.. Pickles not disable, she is unique :) Would love to go but unfortunately it's the same day of the Samoyed Day Out too.
  16. With me, Charlie doesn't know how to say No for pats. Emmy either. Skeeter is a Samoyed.. so what Bjeilker said
  17. :) We believe that Emmy is put on this earth just for Charlie.
  18. After what you have been through with all your dogs, I would think that health will be very important to you. Temperament is just as important too :)
  19. My JS use to have car sickness and we found out that if we put her in a crate, she is fine. She got car sickness due to anxiety though.. she still drools a little bit, but nothing as bad as before.
  20. Charlie isn't allow on the bed anymore because the 5.5kg dog takes half the bed and 2 adults and Emmy have to share the other half... I will like to add that Charlie sticks his nose up to small size dog beds too. He only likes the XL beds. I don't think he realise that he is little.
  21. LOL - Nope!!! I know the feeling!!! I was once stuck on the couch for 45 minutes because Charlie was sleeping across my lap and even though I was busting to go to the toilet, I didn't have the heart to wake him up.
