Sometimes GAP has people wanting a pup, while they can't get involved because of his age they have, in the past, put people in touch and then it's up to both parties to be satisfied with each other. So try them and maybe GSN are the same, doesn't hurt to ask.

would this be the dog who you crate "trained" by leaving it outside in a crate screaming the neighbourhood down? How could week old puppies be running around eating mouse bait and why did you leave it down where dogs and puppies could reach it? because he can? I never leave food out on bench tops etc but I do leave the cat's food on top of the small freezer, the dogs could actually get it if they tried. My guess is he tried it once and got something yummy so he keeps trying and keeps getting rewarded. Maybe he feels hungry, could you add vegies to his meals to keep him full longer? But you will have to put temptation out of the way.

Show bred greyhounds are a rare breed in this country. They are my breed and they are not bred very often. 2011 there were 12 born, 2012 none. but why is this? Is it because most people see Greys as racing dogs and aren't interested in them as a pet? no idea really. Adults are popular, hence the success for GAP etc. When I first got into greys there were a lot of stories around about how grey puppies were the puppies from hell. These usually came from people who had never had a puppy of any breed and often the only dog experience was with nice calm adult greys. I've never had any trouble with any grey puppy. The worst were a pair of 6 month olds that I fostered straight from a rearing establishment. They only saw people when they got fed basically. They were pitiful in how they craved human company. Wore quite a few scratches but they soon settled down. Were great young dogs when they left here.

and how many entire dogs shown are actually bred from? Not all of them that's for sure. And who would know how many are actually fertile? Very easy to slip a desexed bitch ( not a coated breed ) into the lineup along with the dogs that have been implanted. And there are plenty of entire dogs that should not be bred from as well. Neuter class still showcases the breed, people can get to see more then one example of the breed (in my breeds case), the dog enjoys it, it encourages new people to the sport. My adult daughter has started with my neuter bitch and they are having a ball together.

very hard to get hold of an under 12 week old pup. That's when they are ear branded. Most racing people want to hold onto them to see how they turn out. Price can be high as well. I have put people onto puppy selling sites when they ask my about a pup and I don't have any. Sometimes an oops litter is born or there is one that has been stood on and damaged a leg so ok as a pet, not suitable for racing. As for show bred, very few and far between. Easier to get a GAP grey then a puppy grey.

The vet wrap, as I recall, just made their legs feel different so the dog was more aware of them. I assume the weights were for the same reason. I can't remember what I did when the vet wrap was on, just walks around the yard I think, or maybe some cavaletti.

Greyhounds often live outside with a kennel in a yard. Some live in runs in tin sheds. Some live in sheds but with cooling and heating. Mine are outside at night when I go to work. They survive quite well, good kennels, good dog coats on in the winter. I actually thought a greyhound may suit the OP but they apparently want a puppy.

My web site has links on it to my video's and my "fun" photos though there are a sprinkling of them on the site. Mainly it is show photo's though. Sometimes photo's and text can be a bit disjointed depending on what monitor you are looking on. Mine, on my laptop, has everything where it is supposed to be, on the desktop monitor (squarer) things can be out of place. So sometimes, don't think a sloppy looking website is a bad one, try another monitor first. :laugh:
