  1. Any ANKC associate can compete in obedience and agility. Outside of Qld, that's been the case ever since I became involved. How is that ia "privilege"? You pay your money, you register your dog and you are entitled to enter alongside any other ANKC registered dog. when the assoicate register started up in Vic the dogs didn't have to be desexed, though that was changed quite quickly. My 1st associate dog was not allowed to compete in the same ring as ANKC dogs, we had to have seperate rings and their titles were different as well. GD instead of CD for example. What did GD stand for Rebanne? Graduate Dog and Graduate Dog Excellent. Didn't get as far as UD back then so not sure what it was. Not all clubs allowed associates to trial and I do remember there was one trial that was only for associates!
  2. all well and good for those that have specialities for their dogs to compete at and the time and money to be able to attend.
  3. Fern was jumping off and on the bed when in labour

  5. I agree, vets have told me how it un hygienic etc. My partner told me when i went away for a week my boy slept on my pillow, I think he was fretting. SO cute but I ended up just throwing the pillow case away. why didn't you just wash it dog sleeps on the bed anyway I often have a couple of dogs and cats on my bed, even when Fern is in season; just put an extra blanket on the bed for her.
  6. glad some people have plenty of money and time to travel all over the country side to specialities. Glad they have specialities to go to. you have no idea
  7. with the price of petrol they are not cheap champions at all
  8. I just want to say Bravo!!!! me too funny how these threads are usually started by someone with a "common" breed.
  9. They are all going great guns thanks Sir WJ. The boy we lost had a physical problem that was not evident until, it seems, he was of a size and weight for it to present. At least it didn't happen after I had gone to work and left my daughter to cope with it. Baby boy is now resting peacefully.
  10. we lost a boy last night, very unexpected, only a couple of hours before I was to come back to work.
  11. We lost one of the boys last night, couple hours before I came back to work, very unexpected.
  12. I am so very sorry for your loss Jules. RIP Brock, secure in the knowledge you were well loved.
  13. Gawd that is unheard of LOL. It is powdered? Fern didn't like it either, had to mix it with really attractive food, ie tinned puppy food.
  14. I didn't measure Fern but she put on approx 7 - 8 kilos and had 10 pups in total
  15. I said if they were to bring it in, which many people do want, country people will have even less shows to show at. It's not a rule yet, but your sentiments are mine.
  16. No. Queensland doesn't have neuter title so any breeder in that state would be disavantaged.
  17. and if some people get their way and they bring in a ruling that committee members can't show at their own shows then country clubs/shows are dead. If some country shows sell out to the city there is less to go to and no one will want to be on a committee cause that just cuts their opportunities down again.
  18. Ovens Valley does thanks to a lot of hard work from the club and the support of exhibitors, many who come back year after year.
  19. then think in reverse for us country folk, if you can't get to many country shows because of costs, then neither can I get to too many city shows. But you (meaning city people) have shows nearly every weekend. Not so for country people. And it seems we have just lost a couple more.
  20. so it's just a money making thing then? Well I hope all the city folk appreciate that they have even more shows for them to attend close to home, while us country folk get less.
  21. yes come over to June Glad things went well for you both :D
  22. They are looking so good! My scales have bit the dust but all my babies look and feel good in the hand so I am not going spare about not knowing their weights. Mind you I have already ordered a replacement. :D I have about 30 different winter names if you need some Cavalblaze, totally different breeds so am happy to share my list.
