I am about to re model my cattery and remove a couple of very large mesh towers. After readign this thread I think I will put shade cloth around them and peg them into the ground length wise to make tunnels for the dogs

but if his tail is not up to the standard, can he work all day long? I know little about Labs but isn't retrieving from water a big part of the job? And if the tail is not up to scratch could it not impact on the dogs working ability?

if you own several dogs they may be put in Open or Ausbred to spread them out. Must say I have never seen a state bred class yet. If I had two older dogs of a similar age I would seperate them into Open and Aus.

Would you desex a Grey at 8-12 weeks tho'? I wouldn't. They grow fast enough as it is which increases the risk of joint/bone problems, you don't need to add to it.

why anyone would want to feed a fully grown dog puppy food is beyond me. No way in hell a dog nearly 2 is a puppy. I buy the last bag of puppy food at 8 weeks. When that runs out then they go onto adult food.

I bought 2, two seater couches just for the greys and got myself a nice leather recliner. I only have to share my chair with the cats lol

how do you know it did not bite the Great Dane, just because there wasn't blood does not mean there wasn't a bite. If Sway hadn't been aware of what was going on and pulled her dog back there certainly could have been blood and lots of it. If the dog wasn't intent on causing harm how on earth did it motivate itself to get up to Dane head height? Thankfully Sway was able to prevent damage being done to her girl by acting swiftly. And bite or lunge doesn't change the fact some moron let their dog attack another and not even to say sorry until prompted by others, yeah real bright sparks.

4 weeks is a good time. It's more to confirm pregnancy IMO. A friend recently was told 4 on the ultrasound, her bitch went on to have 12 (largish breed). Vet's guess for Fern via ultrasound is 9, my guess is 10. I am tossing up on whether to get Fern xrayed in the last week.
