Greyhound Breed Standards And Judging Criteria
Rebanne replied to Blknwhte's topic in General Dog Discussion
have a good read here: showring FAQ will give you lots of info. Make sure your girl is freshly bathed and well groomed, no dead hair. Make sure her nails are clipped short. Teeth clean. You'll need a show lead as well. When and where is your first show, there may be Doler's going who can help. If you can get to a show handling class or two beforehand that would be helpful. You will need to stack (stand) your dog and follow the judge's instuctions. He might want you to go out and back or do a triangle or a circle. Tell the steward and the judge this is your first time, they will be very helpful. And remember this is a hobby to have fun with, so take a deep breath and just enjoy being out there with your dog. -
can we vote by proxy or something?

I use a scoff stopper for my piggy boy and yes it works very well

I've got one I no longer need if you are interested.

congratulations, what breed?

as long as the cost of whatever is done is borne by the people that use KCC Park and would benefit from it. ie put a levy on the entries. I very rarely show there and would be less then impressed if I had to pay extra fee's, ie higher membership to cover it, but would pay a levy on an entry. Maybe they should just ditch it? Not all shows have PA system's.

lots of puppies coming your way then
-
no that's not likely but Fern seems to have sprung udders overnight Poor girls :D

pics? Poor Lucy, hope it clears up quickly

as long as master 7 is prepared to take his share, oh, lets say 90 of them Master 7 is ecstatic at the thought - but I know WHO will end up cleaning up the puppy poo, so will regretfully decline the honour on his behalf... :D life is so unkind

If the hernia is going to need repairing then yes I would lower the price to reflect that. Having had a dog with a hernia it certainly wouldn't stop me buying another. As for the mouth, again as long as there was no health problem, difficulty eating, and I only wanted a pet, yes I would buy it. Would I expect the pup to be cheaper? Only for hernia repair.

Thanks for the update Larissa, I have been wondering how you got on

Had an enquiry from someone wanting to buy two pups and was wanting a good web site to send them the link to explain the pro's and con's. TIA
-
Congratulations

I had my prefix about 2 years before I bred my first litter. eta but I already had my bitch Another thing to try is to wait until your boy has matured and got a couple of working titles under his belt and see if you can find a breeder who might want to use him, then you could buy one of his pups.

no one else? I'm not even showing a neuter

I trying not to be negative but if I got an email with the above spelling you would just about be an automtic no from me. By not being able to spell a breed's name correctly, that you owned and loved, would really annoy me. I would wonder just how much you knew and cared if you couldn't get the breed right. Maybe it annoyed some of the breeders you contacted. No doubt I will now be jumped on for judging someone for their spelling but you wanted honest feedback. FWIW Poodlefan's post have been spot on.
