  1. I am pretty sure I read it here but can't find the post. Who else has the book "Gazehounds: The Search For The Truth" by Constance O. Miller? My 2nd hand copy has just arrived and a few pages are blank. I am hoping they are printed correctly in someone elses copy and that person may be kind enough to scan them for me.
  2. not all country grounds are the same, some are very, very nice
  3. Bugger it, won't be able to catch up cause Ferny should have pups then, but if she doesn't we will come
  4. I have 4 dogs. When I feed totally edible bones I supervise the dogs, sometimes all 4 out in the yard with me but more commonly only 2 at a time. With the all day gob stoppers like split marrow bones, they all get a go one at a time in the yard. After the bones have been out for a few hrs and all had a good chew they loose their value and any combination of dogs can be outside with the bones. I pick up old bones when I get sick of them cluttering up the back verandah or when they get new ones.
  5. quite common in the racing greyhound world I believe to use a whelping service
  6. sometimes they do, blood tests etc don't always show/tell the whole story. Sometimes animals are operated on for a look see. I imagine it's not done as often now as it has been in the past as technology has improved in leaps and bounds.
  7. so how do you propose vet students learn if you aren't willing to let them learn on your pets? cadavers. And I am willing to let already EXPERIENCED vet students learn on my pets as long as there is an experienced vet assisting them. And for those vet students to become experienced... again... I say cadavers. I think you missed the bit when we said that we weren't happy to trust our dogs life on someone who was still learning not to be sqeamish around dogs and insides and euthanasia etc etc. we? I was quoting and responding to you and I don't recall you qualifying your statement that way - until now.
  8. so how do you propose vet students learn if you aren't willing to let them learn on your pets?
  9. Amazon has the book Gazehounds - Search For The Truth,
  10. A car or two cant be sold to help with some funding and why is not something that is able to be made public. Right now nothing can be sold to help with some funding as there are legal issues involved and by the time things can be sold it will be too late. fair enough, just thought selling a car could ease the pressure on people.
  11. I'd guess they're in her mum's name. Stuff like that can't be sold until all the legalities of wills are dealt with. Or the dramas of no will, as the case may be??? yes I did think of that which is why I haven't asked before.
  12. sorry but why can't a car or two be sold to help with some funding?
  13. I can't wait until Pat gets to Melbourne next weekend! Going on the Saturday. So looking forward to it. Did you get tickets or anything? My cheque was cashed but that's about it.
  14. Had a mating have we. :D   ;) ;) 2 legged or 4 :D
  15. Blondie says thanks ! It's all in the folder ready to go to school for "show and tell" tomorrow. She even marked the catalogue to show the kids the 9 other baby names. Yah for Dexter and connections. Has he left any ribbon intact for Blondie to take to school? ;)
  16. so glad you are both ok I would have reacted exactly the same, no doubt about it. Would have screamed and yelled and sworn like a trooper, then be a little bit ashamed because the guy was so apologetic.
  17. if I get this right, there is a dog attacking others and the owner allows it to do so multiple times and no one has done anything about it? The so called reason this dog is attacking is because it was supposed to have once been attacked itself. What an idiot of an owner it has then with no thought for others. If being attacked by another dog was really the reason it has become DA, then why is the owner not worried about it turning other dogs into DA dogs? And it's not only the owner of the attacking dog, it's also all the others who stand by and do nothing, bunch of morons.
  18. Mine don't wear collars at home, too dangerous for dogs who like to play by grabbing each other around the neck
  19. and she certainly did do what she wanted, for 75 minutes :D
