That is an interesting way for calls to Vic Dogs from people looking for breeder referrals to be handled. They weren't looking for breeder referrals as such. I understood from the conversation that they were asking Vic Dogs what shows were around that they could go to. KCC park was suggested to them as well. But our shows are much, much closer. By about 4 hours My mobile is plastered every where so it didn't bother me. Told them to come find me and I would take them around. Point was they are a puppy buyer putting in some work to try and get a good dog of the breed they want.

I am sure the people who titled their dogs by avoiding competition don't think it is insulting to breeds with small numbers in the ring. Those type's of people would only be thinking of themselves and thinking how clever they were. I'm sure they can sleep straight in bed, I wouldn't be able to, meaningless title or not.

funnily enough I had a phone call just this week from someone asking about buying a Staffy pup and I don't even breed them. But the caller was doing her homework, she had been to the club website and she rang Vic Dog. As she lives up my way and there is 2 Champ shows on this weekend it was suggested she ring me, which she did, we had a lovely 25 minute chat, and her family will be coming to the show to meet some dogs. Told her all about the 3 shows in a fortnights time as well in case they don't make it to ours. Also suggested she check out DOL's Breed 101 forum. so staffy owners/breeders in Nth East Vic, Southern NSW there may be someone visiting you soon. :D

Any and all of the above. It will depend on what pound, who you know and who may be willing to help. the question has to be asked, doesn't Queensland have enough stray animals of it's own?

replying to the bold bit wouldn't make any difference to me and my breed. The only way I could have regular competition is to move to Sydney! And I ain't doing that I show a breed I want to live with, I live in a area I want to live in. I've gone all over trying to get competition, it rarely happen's.

so they are Animal Rescue Queensland then? Needs to be very clear who they are so more innocent people and dogs are not hurt by them and their very careless actions. Total disregard for others and their beloved dogs. It's groups like this that will make governments bring in very tough laws to control rescue.

and what about when you are the only one entered 98 % of the time? It's got to be reasonably fair to all breeds. If I had to travel to Queensland or WA to compete against others I would never show ever again. I certainly don't have the time, space or money to keep a kennel full of dogs so they can compete against each other, "creating majors".

yep keep the poor pup alive, suffering, just to keep your reputation intact, spend big dollars on saving one, who might not come out of this 100 %, spread the disease round willy nilly and blame others, yay for you the rescue group, doing such a sterling job there. eta not directed a varicool in case someone thinks it was
