A Small Tiff In The Off-leash Park
RallyValley replied to mrs tornsocks's topic in General Dog Discussion
Breed is never an excuse for anything, -it's ok for my small dog to growl because he is small -it's ok for my excitable bouncy breed to bounce in your dogs face hes just playing -it's ok for my herding breed to run round your dog, he's only herding him If you have to make these excuses it's probably not ok behaviour. -
Maybe Showdog?

At agility nationals the first two dogs in novice jumping had knocked the same bar, when the third dog cleared it a little boy from the GP goes "FINALLY!" But on a more serious note quite a few kids and even a couple of adults were sitting half under the ring ropes and quite close to a jump, very distracting for novice dogs but I was too chicken to tell them to move. Lucky Ozjen was there.

My Boys Penis Gets Stuck..

Yikes...its pretty scary when it happens the first time! Poor Lincoln....how old is he? I took my boys matt away for a few days and so far he seems to have broken the pattern. He is 6 months next week. I have taken away the pillow Lincoln got excited over. ;) . -
Hopefully the trial will go well and they will be holding another at your place Mirawee! :D
-
I think thats the Gun dog show! :D I had already heard they were having it at your place.
-
I wish! But I can't not miss my Saturday shift the night before, plus I let a big note on the notice board asking of anyone wanted to swap so it might look suss (apparently everyone has a life and will be out partying Saturday night :D :D ) You guys will have to absorb all the info and relay it back to me! I might try go to watch another trial at some stage with Lincoln.

ST will have to work out a date for bringing Ari out bush bashing. No water out this way at the moment though. :D

I won't be starting this year but I did want him to be exposed to gunshots and to see if I could get him focused in that sort of enviroment.

A Small Tiff In The Off-leash Park

I have began to put Toby on a lead when I see other dogs at off leash areas. Toby will tell a dog off that is a similar size to him for getting in his face with a growl which makes people think my dog is aggresive and could start something if the other dog reacts to Toby's telling off. The worst is when I avoid another dog and ask the person to put it on a leash and the owner says "It's friendly" to me that screams ignorance because my on leash dog won't appreciate yours in it's face and may even growl at you dog. Also when I say "mines not" this does not mean you can say "good my dog needs to be taught a lesson!" if you want your dog to learn that way do it in a controlled enviroment with a dog you know and that you can predict the reaction of. I can honestly say that if the wrong dog came into Toby's face and they got all narky I don't trust him which is why he stays on lead unless I know the dog . Saying this the most Toby has ever done is make noise, he has never harmed aother dog. -
Yep, Masons Mom and I are going Are you?? :D I hate my job! :D Do you work every sunday? Every second Sunday, which usually means the Sundays that good things happen. :D

They spelled Lincolns show name wrong. But arent his sisters adorable! Belle Starr and Calamity Jane have both won a Baby in Group!
-
Lol thats us out then, Mason can be the picture of obedience one second and a monster the next, he loves other dogs and tends to want to say hello to the whole world.... Which is why I am bringing Lincoln instead of Toby.
-
I have a question, when I am walking Lincoln and I have food (I won't say heeling as we haven't properlystarted that yet) he jumps stright up in the air and back down in excitement (so not onto me, just upwards) of course I ignore this behaviour and then do something positive on the ground level (i.,e sit, stand) then give him a treat (but not always stright after, so he dosen't learn jump=treat). Should I be doing something else?

Like a minute after the photo was taken Toby heard a car in the drive and sprinted off to go bark! I think someone was playing it up a bit so that he would get attention or the coat off! I find it's quite soft it isn't thick canvas, just a light waterproof coat with lining.
-
Toby is taller then he is long, so he is probably a similar height to Banjo but more compact. (Toby is 50cm high exaclty) I had to take him off the couch where he was curled up asleep to get a clear picture of his jacket and he forgot how to move again.
-
He has a wide ribcage for his height/length :D He is just big boned :D He isn't wearing it now because dad light a fire so its quite warem inside.

Angelsun, I was wondering for the seminar what a dog has to know as a pre-requiste. My young boy has heaps better focus, he can stand and sit plus he heels better but not great). But I want to know if that will be enough? He will probably know down and stay by the seminar. Is that enough? I know the day is about me learning but I don't want to have my dog stopping my learning.

Sounds like what happened to Char after his BISS! Her grade sounds good anyway. You doing Autumn Festival on Sat? I am down there with Licoln for his last show in Baby Puppy. He is growing up too fast!

I will get a pic of Toby in said coat tonight
