  1. Brilliant CC!! Looking forward to seeing how it goes this weekend too :D
  2. I wonder if they are interested in working gun dogs on farms?
  3. Week 8: Valentines wishes from Zora Week 9: Beautiful Rosie the 12yo blind Labrador looking for a home
  4. Ok finally got a chance to sit down in front of my computer and upload some stuff to Flickr. I'm going to do a bulk post but put it in spoiler tags so it doesn't clog up the thread and people only have to look if they want :) Week 4, 5 & 6
  5. I could not be more in love with my Tamron 70-200mm lens. It's the brand new version and retails at around $1,500. Before I brought it all the reviews I read were quite positive. The only time I have taken it off my camera since I got it was to shoot in tight spaces, for landscapes or for macro.
  6. My first dog was Lilly, the mixed bred. She was a 'family' dog but I used to walk and feed her, go with my parents to all her vet appointments, train her (we used to play agility in the back yard), brush her etc. I had her for 12 years and she was there for a lot of my important moments. I was also with her comforting her at the end when her arthritis meant her quality of life was gone.
  7. Thanks Trisven. He is such a happy dork As for his movement it is simply amazing and is definitely one of the first things you notice about him!
  8. Yeah I was very excited that Rudy the Brittany (Am Ch/Ch Dogwood Hollow C I Can Dance IMP USA) was Best in Group Gundog A well deserved win for such a sweet boy that moves like he's floating on air. He's a special dog to me, I got the scary/exciting job of handling him at the American National Speciality Show in 2011. :) Congratulations to all the winners.
  9. Does anyone know what time general specials are?
  10. Yeah it is :) They are pretty ugly/cute :p
  11. I HATE fur baby too. This is what I picture whenever someone says 'fur baby'
  12. Try the Paw Prints ones CareyJ :) Some of my puppy families used one and enjoyed it.
  13. I haven't stopped taking photos but haven't got around to posting so don't be surprised with a bulk lot soon.
  14. Please see the quote above from the American Brittany Club's Primer. And this UK website describing French Brittanys: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/tournesolbrittanys/Enquiries.htm I think much of the coat difference you would have seen in pictures is the two differing styles of presentation, American Brittanys are usually much more groomed and trimmed than French ones.
  15. I am an American Brittany breeder, but have met a few French dogs and mixed French/American. I don't believe that French dogs are calmer or more attentive. I think other than slight variations based on working style the temperaments are quite similar. I had heard before I got my first dog that the Americans were more biddable and softer dogs. All of mine have an off switch and are calm when needed. I don't believe many French breeders hip or elbow score and I have not heard of any doing hearts or eyes. There is a bit of an attitude with some French Britt people about only placing dogs in field homes. If you go to a show in NSW it's very likely you will only see American Brittanys. You need to contact French breeders to meet French dogs, as they rarely shoe and mostly do field and retrieving trials. There are two French Britts in ACT with performance titles and quite a few American/mostly American dogs all around the county titled in other sports. My older bitch is titled in Obedience, one pass away from her first tracking title and has started training in agility. I have not found my girl gets distracted with hunting unless there is game like rabbits around. They are lovely dogs to train and own. Please contact me if you want more info.
  16. I have a 7D and shoot plenty at night (even dog shows), Max ISO isn't a big deal to me as you will get too much noise at high ISO anyway. The 7D has a superior focusing system and a higher rate of frames per minute then the 60D - not sure how it compares to 70D. However saying that if you can afford it get the 6D.
  17. He looks so good CC, amazing how he is beating the odds. So glad for you guys :) Love the photo series too, it is so recognisably Australian and so lovely and sharp I thought it must have been on your 100mm until I had a sneak peek at the metadata

  22. I just went through my pics as ages ago I decided to do 52 Weeks of Kite but then stopped uploading. I was pretty sure I hadn't missed a week and I wasn't wrong :) I'm needing to shoot week 24 but have done 23 weeks.
