When Pele was a puppy she was a feral little pirahna. I used to deliberately wind her up until she was grabbing and nipping me :D Then I'd stand still with arms folded and look away. The first time her behaviour got worse (extinction burst) 'cos she didn't get a reaction Then she sat out of frustration. YAY!!! "Good girl" and then the game started. Next time Pele sat more quickly. Within a short time (5 - 10 minutes) she was sitting every time I stopped the game. She learned self control and how to switch on and switch off I had also been working on the watch command since the day she came home. By the time we got to obedience classes when she'd finished her vaccinations I could focus Pele back onto me after she'd have an on-lead wild moment with another puppy. Her "brains" would be back in her head, but the other puppies would be feral for the rest of the class She has fantastic self control

Was going to ask the same question Pele, the "Porker" tends to keep eating until it's all gone. It took her 3 hours to eat a huge bone the other night, that would take a "normal" dog a month Funnily the cow hooves that I've bought she chewed for a bit then gave up :D They only worked out to about 80c each

I bought covered crate mats from the dog shop at the Dogs SA (canine association) for Pele's crate. They were $15 - $20 - much cheaper than elsewhere. That was before the dog shop changed hands toThe Complete Canine Company Check them out, they might still have cheaper crate mats. You don't have to be a member to shop there

Absolutely Would you work for a pat on the head from your boss? Doubt it. $$$ work better don't they? Same with your dog. Rewards = $$$$

I'd say its pretty uncommon. I don't know the mode of inheritance but I do know that I've never seen one or heard of one in this country. Hmmmm...... something new for Deshonko Kennels maybe :D Think of the money they could make with this new rare breed

I looked up to see Pele on her way back to me proudly carrying the kids ball I went and apologised. Dad was fine with it and kid loved Pele giving him high-5's

Fence the area off. Sprinkle chilli powder around the base of the plants. You can yell and scream all you like at the puppy until you are blue in the face but he'll just do it when you aren't there. If the plants "bite" back he may take notice. Pele liked to dig the pop-up sprinklers. We bought bags of chilli powder in bulk (500g) and sprinkled it around the sprinklers. She got the message
