  1. Good to hear Sandgrubber - it's Bravecto that I've bought to try.
  2. Thanks Sheena, I knew Advantix was a no-no but hadn't heard anything about the new ones.
  3. Does anyone know if the new tick products on the market are safe to use with cats in the household?
  4. Thanks for posting all of this Mim - it's something I've never heard of, very interesting.
  5. Awwww Kirty, she is just adorable! Those eyes!!
  6. Oops - my JR must be broken I think! She is very "soft" - hates a raised/stern voice and has always been the one to take a new puppy or kitten under her wing. She's definitely all terrier though and a great ratter. She takes absolutely no notice of our chooks, guinea fowl and the odd visiting peacock but when that scrub turkey comes over the fence look out!
  7. I'm so very sorry to hear this - hugs to you and RIP big guy.
  8. I'm so very sorry to hear this news DD. Hugs to you. RIP little Myrtie.
  9. Hugs and best wishes for you and darling little Myrtie.
  10. Sorry to hijack your thread Wire but just wanted to say that it warms my heart to see people like Steve and Erny so happy and willing to share their vast experience. I take my hat off to you. I'm always filing away bits of information and am just amazed at how much knowledge people like this have accumulated. Thank you.
  11. Sorry to hear about Lily's diagnosis. My Lily has recently been diagnosed with Cushing's - there's a recent thread in Health/Nutrition/Grooming with some information in it. If there's anything else you'd like to know (not that I'm an expert but just because it's so recent) please feel free to ask. My Lily is doing very well and I'm sure your Lily will too.
  12. How is Milo getting on? I'm afraid I don't know anything about Anipryl. I hope he's doing okay.
  13. Yes, the Trilostane is administered by weight. Lily started off on 1/2 tablet daily and is now stable on a dose of 1 tablet daily (she's around 7 kg). They are very small tablets. I had to watch her for symptoms of being off colour, off her food and vomiting but she has been fine all along. I was worried about the treatment but so far, for us, it's all been smooth sailing. Do you have Milo's results back yet?
  14. My 12 year old Jack Russell, Lily, was diagnosed with Cushings a few months ago (and is doing well). We finally have the right dose of medication (Trilostane) and now her next test is in three months (have been monthly). I think I pay about $312 for the ACTH test. I can't remember the cost of the Trilostane (?? a couple of hundred dollars) but they do last for some time. Lily had no symptoms but her blood tests were rising and then she went on to have USS and some blood tests to confirm the diagnosis. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Good luck with Milo.
  15. I'm so sorry to hear such sad news Jules. RIP sweet little Joey. Hugs to you.
  16. Oh Natalieandcid, I am so sorry to hear this. Poor little Cid. I hope you can find a specialist to help your little man. Hugs to you all.
  17. How heartbreaking for you. RIP little Strolchie. Hugs.
  18. Violetmay - I'm at the same stage as you - USS done and talking about the dexamethasone suppression test. My dog has little in the way of symptoms (?? maybe drinking a little more). I'll be really interested to hear what others have to say. Best wishes to you and your little guy.
  19. Ness, I've followed your journey and my heart just breaks for you and Kenz. I just hope and pray that things will pick up again. You are such an amazing, dedicated owner - Kenz could not have or wish for better. Hugs.
  20. Great news for you and Willow! What a relief (and my little dog's results were benign too!).
  21. Oh, poor little Oscar - gentle pats for him.
  22. Willow sounds like such a good girl! It seems like your vet's on top of it whatever the results, which is good.
