  1. Fingers crossed it's something simple. Good luck and let us know. I'm waiting on biopsy results at the moment (for a lump in my JRs mouth).
  2. Glad Cooper came through the surgery so well. I hope he as a smooth and speedy recovery. These things are always so worrying for us as owners.
  3. I am so sorry to hear this heartbreaking news. I have watched Charlie's progress over the years - the tears and the triumphs - and thought how lucky you all were to have each other. My thoughts are with you. Hugs.
  4. Oh my goodness! How absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations Jules and family - I'm sure she will bring much love and laughter.
  5. I've got my boy at the vet with suspected tick poisoning. I've been over him a thousand times and couldn't fine one but the vet is still convinced he may have one so she is going to shave him down (he's a poodle). I'm hoping it's not a tick - he's already been through it twice already. Good to hear HHH and others are improving.
  6. I hate ticks so much. Sending healing vibes for your poor boy and hugs to you.
  7. Poor, poor little love. This is just heartbreaking. My deepest sympathy goes out to Orange's family.
  8. Oh Esky, I am so very sorry for your loss. RIP little Penny. xxxxxx
  9. Thanks for that info Sheena. I thought I read somewhere that the spray was more effective against ticks than the spot-on - I'll have to go and do some more reading.
  10. We are just north of Brisbane and are still getting ticks, one off the Poodle yesterday and five off the Jack Russell in the last couple of weeks. I've used up all the Proban and am now trying Frontline spray (can't use Advantix because of the cats). We haven't had a break from ticks the last two years either. Our JR is 11 and has only started getting ticks in the last two years. Our Poodle is super sensitive to them and has been hospitalised twice. It drives me crazy with worry (along with toads and snakes, but that's another story!).
  11. Ok, so it sounds like the Permoxin is a no go. I know it can't be used on cats but I thought it might be okay for the dogs. However, the kitten sleeps and plays with the dogs so I can't risk it. Aloysha - I've been using Proban on the dogs and cats but it's been taken off the market, hence the search for new products. I guess it's the Frontline then. Interesting that it doesn't work on fleas but does work for ticks. We stopped using it because it wasn't working on the fleas. Thanks everyone.
  12. Poor Tess, she's really having a rough time, poor love. I hope things start to improve for her very soon.
  13. We live in a high tick area and have been using Proban on the dogs and cats (down to the last bottle). Now I need to come up with something else and wondered about Permoxin for the dogs. Is is safe to be used around the cats? I won't use Advantix because of the cats and wondered if Permoxin is the same. Also, what now do I use for the cats? Any ideas? We used to use Frontline years ago but it ceased to be effective. I've heard recently that the spray is more effective- any advice on this?
  14. Fingers crossed for Tess - hopefully it will be all good news from now on.

  16. Heartfelt sympathy to you at this very difficult time. RIP Zedley. Hugs.
  17. What a beautiful idea - brought tears to my eyes. Good one Gayle's hubby!
  18. They're good tips Lynn, thanks. I have sooo many photos of fuzzy black blobs it's not funny. Archie looks like a gorgeous little guy.
  19. I often do a mini album (6 x 6) of their first year and then individual layouts go in our family albums. I'm having great difficulties with our newest pup - he's black and it's so hard to get a good photo of him (and not just a black blob).
  20. I'm so glad she made it Danielle. Very good news.
  21. So glad to hear a happy ending. Hugs to Mindy (wow, that is some incision).
  22. I hope it's even better news today. Good vibes being sent your way.
  23. Oh no, Proban's the only thing that works for us and I've got four paralysis ticks this week off the dogs (we're in SEQ and have not stopped getting ticks since last September). My pup was hospitalised twice before we got onto the Proban. What am I going to do now????
  24. Oh Jules, how devastating. My heart goes out to you. Hugs. RIP beautiful Brock.
