  1. As per the title, Esky doesn't seem to understand how to sit and/or drop when she is heeling. Instead of plonking her butt down beside me facing in the same direction, she twists and sits on a 45 - 90 degree angle from my leg. Or she'll come and sit in front facing me. And it's much the same with drops How have other people overcome this problem? Any advice is much appreciated
  2. I'm going to do something useful this year. I love photography, so I really should participate I am purchasing a DSLR in the near future, but you know have to save up first . For now I'll make do with my point and shoot 52 Weeks of Esky
  3. Is there only certain breeds allowed to participate in carting trials?
  4. My favourite Esky playing mum to a litter of neglected BYB pups we were caring for. She's 4-5 months old here
  5. Poor kitties. I'm hoping there are loving homes out there for them
  6. Esky love love loves to rough and tumble. I usually have to put her on leash when she gets too much for the others. It would be good for her to have a few more full on dogs to play with She grew up playing with my inlaws boxer, boxer x and bitza . So she loves rough
  7. For the FIL's menagerie it's Dunlop Volley hardcourt tennis balls. They hold up pretty darn well. And cheap for a tube ( sometimes we go by after the tennis club have had there meetings and take what they've lost over the fence too
  8. You should come join us in the Spitz breed thread Thundersbeard A fair few people have Jap Spitz and could recommend you a good breeder if that is your breed of choice http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...56&st=40875 <- Quick Link I hope someone can give you more definitive answers
  9. Oh my If only they weren't so far from me ETA: I think this topic is breaking one or more of the forum rules though
  10. This time last year, I was working for a company that did Santa Photographs. As you would expect Santa was a jolly chatty fellow, who asked all the children what they wanted for Christmas. There were a fair few requests for dogs (only purebreds I might add ) as well as other live creatures. Santa explained to the children that he couldn't bring live animals; because they frighten the reindeer. And that there families all had to decide together on the right pet to bring home. I love you Santa. I hope you are still spreading your Christmas cheer and good pet ownership message somewhere
  11. I think Lappiemum means December
  12. At the moment I am working a fair few hours. It's been gradually reducing, as I am working in a supermarket that opened only 3 weeks ago, they are still assessing how many staff we need at any given time. Initially it was a bit of a shock for both Esky and I going from full time unemployed to full time work. My first few weeks I was sooooooo tired after work I could barely move. Now we're getting into more of a routine. When I can I'll walk esky of a morning. But the days I start early I can't bear getting up any earlier. When I get home we'll do something together, training, riding etc. Luckily she's not very active at the moment except for evening time.
  13. I hear that Canberra showies are wet wet wet this weekend
  14. Say you found a wallet, just because the owner of the wallet was careless enough to lose it, does not mean the wallet and it's contents are yours to keep. Same thing. If you are keen to keep this dog, turn it into a rescue. Let them know that if it's owners aren't found you would like to be it's forever home. Thats one less home a rescue has to find, and you will have gone through the correct procedures to make this dog yours.
