  1. Yes, the Dachshund in one of the photo's is another rescue. A sweet girl.
  2. I know Destiny is quite overwhelmed with the views she's gotten from this video, she's messaged me to say she can't believe it..I'm just glad she's getting such positive reviews of it- I know it is means a lot to her
  3. My young FB friend adopted a GSD female last year which she called Riley. Over the course of the year she has put a lot of work in to raising Riley, she really works hard and tries her best to do what is right for Riley and her other dog Banjo. Things haven't been easy for her and Riley. This is her words as to some of the challenges she's faced with Riley: Destiny recently made a beautiful video to the poem ''I Adopted Your Dog Today'' featuring pictures of her girl Riley. She added her own personal spin to the poem at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrcWH4otu20&feature=g-all-lik HUGE Thanks go to DOLs GSDs4Ever of Happy Paws Training Treats who saw the video on my page, and wanted to not only share it on her FB page, but to award Destiny with a sample pack of her awesome treats, and also has kindly insisted on giving me a sample pack for sharing the video.
  4. Poor baby . I hope she recovers quickly
  5. This turned out to be a false alarm, I know this as it was at my place. The vehicle belongs to a member of the club next to my paddock. He was there on the mobil phone and the neighbor thought he had binoculars. I spoke to the owner of the vehicle this morning. Oh that's a relief. I guess that is the sad thing with this situation, is that people are feeling so on edge and any thing out of the ordinary is deemed suspicious.
  6. They also forgot: Balto, Cats and Dogs, Beverly Hills Chihuahua (Delgado ), Hotel For Dogs, All Dogs Go To Heaven, Legally Blonde- the Chihuahua :)
  7. A friend just shared this article from her local newspaper http://www.maitlandmercury.com.au/news/local/news/general/dogfight-reports-go-ballistic/2610876.aspx
  8. Just for fun, I found this cute article on a website I look at and thought it'd be fun to share here. Was definitely a good 'trip down memory lane'. There are some dogs I am surprised made it/ others who do seem rather obvious choices. My link
  9. Sorry if this sounds silly, I don't have much experience with how the Police are run: Is it possible that the police could be investigating it, but are keeping it quiet as far as media goes in order to try to not tip the perpetrators into knowing they are being investigated? given the rumours I've heard that fights of these nature are often moved around to different locations to try and avoid suspicion.
  10. I agree, there are many DOLers who either live in the area or have family and/or friends in the area, not to mention people who aren't DOLers but have been directed to this thread/ or forum as a way to gain information during this horrible time.
  11. My thoughts and prayers are with all who live in the regions affected in NSW. It's such a horrible thing . I fear I can't say too much because what I want to say about these scum bags would result in a scolding from Troy. I found this My link on Facebook which has some more ideas. I know that on a previous DOL thread DOLers managed to come up with some good idea's including keeping your dogs indoors when unable to supervise them, removing visible signs of a dog being on property from your yards etc.
  12. RIP Sarge . I'm so sorry to hear this Rozzie .
  13. Skeeter, He is gorgeous and looks like the perfect addition to your family. Does this mean that you will be changing your DOL name to CW EW SW? Can't wait to see more photo's of him with the sibs :)
  14. Have you got the room that you can set up a crate/ or leave him inside when you are out?, that would be my first thought. Apart from that I'd not be letting him outside when some one isn't home and/or able to supervise. Hope you can find some ideas to give you a sense of more security - it's a horrible situation to be in .
  15. I'm another Charlie fan :). Love his updates, love the adventures of the Sibs

  17. This happened 10 minutes from where I live - within my local suburban council area . It makes me sick to think that whilst my own (slightly spoilt) GSD was resting in comfort in my bedroom, another of her breed was being treated so inhumanely . I hope the monster that did this is caught and that they can find a new home for this boy where he will receive the love and care that he truly deserves.
  18. A friend shared this on You Tube and I couldn't resist sharing here. The original song has been played to death on commercial radio stations- but this version is adorable :) They also cover Gotye The channel seems to have some cute video's on it
  19. Love the photo's- both are gorgeous dogs :). A new friend for you and a new friend for Ivy- sounds like a win to me :)
  20. Sending ''Get home safe and sound'' vibes to Shiro- shared on FB. Hugs to Rhiannon
  21. We had a great training session today at the park- even had a slight distraction in the form of another dog in the distance to begin with. Complete opposite to Sunday when I was stressed/ Brennan was reactive and it was just not a good day. My stress is the biggest issue at times- I found out my lift to training is no longer continuing hence I need to put an advert in for a new ride to training or do the 80 minute walk to training. Hence I was stressed and that travelled down the leash and I had a dog barking at other dogs (which in turn had me getting embarrassed/ frustrated and made it worse ). Of course it was completely my fault for allowing my stress to travel down the lead/ handling it wrong. Had a break on Monday and resumed training today.
  22. Another big fan of Tlaloc, Rakim, their non celebrity siblings and their human parents. Safe trip and for today Danni
  23. Really hoping that it won't be too long until we move up to Class One from Learners. Last week we were told our biggest thing (holding us from progressing) is hand signals. So this week we have focused on making my hand signals more clear and concise to her. I have been trying to make sure when I give the stand command that she just stands and doesn't move. At first she'd stand and move to get the treat as I was rewarding from the hand furthest from her. However I found that by rewarding from my left hand and just dropping it down to my side that she's starting to get the idea that I want her to just stand where she is.
