  1. I've shared on Facebook as well. I keep looking back in here in case of good news. Sending my thoughts/ prayers to you and your family.
  2. Hope Alvin finds his way home safe and sound.
  3. Honestly I wouldn't. I'd probably look at filling in an anonymous complaint with your local council. That way you avoid confrontation and can 'keep the peace'.
  4. I'd be upset too . I think we all face people who judge us/ our dogs at times, and it is frustrating/ hurtful and knocks us a bit when they are as vocal as this woman was. The key ( imo) to remember is that this woman has no idea you are seeing a behaviourist, and of your dogs history, your goals for their future, or how far they have come with their training. If she wants to rant let her. If she wants to judge you because of a collar- that's her choice. I find the best course of action to deal with these people is to walk away. Especially if I have my dog with me- it's no use to let myself get worked up when I have to be thinking clearly in order to continue to train my dog.
  5. Lol I will stop now..but keep that in mind in case you check out more of his animal video's
  6. He has some good video's . Whilst not featuring dogs- this cat video of his is also funny
  7. There's no organisation over here anymore (folded in May last year) and the service provider keeps changing the goalpost in terms of acceptable evidence. There's no one here that I know of that meets the provider's latest requirements. I have received an offer from a trainer who may fit the bill (will confirm with the provider after mid Jan) but it requires funding a return flight from Melbourne to Perth. It shouldn't be necessary as I believe it could be considered an unreasonable financial burden under the DDA. We are also trying to locate a probono lawyer for the Federal Court case. The Minister for Transport is now also involved in the matter. It's sad that it's had to go this far but unless someone makes a stand, the situation will not change. Well you know if there is anything I can do in anyway to help you to just let me know . As I've said before, I am happy to contribute what I can.
  8. I just saw this posted on Facebook and thought it too cute not to share on here .
  9. I think the Dexter video's are cute
  10. Lol- yep, she's far too modest for all that she does .
  11. I will admit, I have felt spoilt just knowing Danni- she is a wonderful friend, a great person and I am glad that she has a chance to share some more of what she is doing because it is really important for assistance dogs, their handlers and the community. For anyone interested Danni has Facebook pages for 2 of her dogs: Assistance Dog Trainee Rakim Assistance Dog Tlaloc
  12. I always walk early morning or late afternoon. I always step outside and judge whether I think it is too hot to walk. We haven't gone for a walk for a couple of days now but am taking Brennan to swim in an indoor dog pool at her breeders house for 30 minutes later this morning.
  13. I read this story earlier today and thought I'd share. Singer Pink has done a good deed for an injured puppy. Link

  15. I don't really know what to say, at least nothing that I could add that hasn't been said by other posters, but I just wanted to say that I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. t
  16. No, but I always get at least one GSD calendar in the post Christmas sales
  17. I just voted for Dxenion, and put a thread in OT. I put in a vote for you too MG
  18. I'm not a breeder but when I have needed lots of newspapers I have used the free suburban paper which gets delivered each week, the weekend papers which I usually read anyway. I also went to my local library which has a collection of free youth based newspapers, spiritual newspapers. Friends and family are also a good way to collect papers too.
  19. I'm always happy to allow people to say hello to Brennan provided they ask first. If they don't I step back and tell them that it's ''not a good time to pat her because she's too excitable''. Brennan loves people but can get a bit excitable so I like to be given the chance to put her in a sit, get her calmed down a bit before allowing some one to pat her-- for their safety as much as hers. As a child I was raised to always ask the owner's permission before patting the dog. I don't think I got turned down often, but if/ when I do I just assume the owner has a reason to say no-- doesn't offend me in the slightest.
  20. I didn't check out the conformation, but I got all excited when I saw on the extra's that it had 'training footage' and watched the training footage first :D.
  21. Well, I just finished watching it. I enjoyed it, more then I thought I would. Thank goodness I watched it at home, because the ending had me crying .
  22. I'm watching Red Dog at the moment. It's got some funny bits ( the bit with the knitting wool ).The dog is gorgeous.
