What Is The Worst Thing Your Dog Has Eaten?
CrazyCresties replied to dubbleyoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
With my ex-spaniel it was a raw pigs trotter that he had buried some weeks earlier - apparently maggots enhance the texture -
I agree absolutely, why don't you give it a go CC ? give him a cuddle from me and I hope he is better soon. Will do, when I can cuddle him again - he's confined to the floor at the moment so I'm missing my Louis kisses He actually seems a bit better this morning :D He was putting some weight on the leg and not just hopping around on 3 legs, and he pee'd and cocked his good leg so his weight was on his bad one and no squeals I'll see how he is when I get home, but the Tramadol seems to be knocking him out so he's staying nice and quiet on his bed. If things don't improve then I will certainly consider Deb, she seems to be getting a good rating from all you guys :D

Poor little bat-face, i hope this will finally get him to the right home. We got Fox from Shenton Park over a year ago and he was a long-termer back then. I still check the website regularly to see if he's been adopted - i look forward to the day he is not listed any more I recorded it and just watched it - awwwww he's lovely :D Hope he gets a great home after the publicity.

Does Tramadol tend to knock them out a bit

Thanks for that Weasels, ever since I moved here I've been seeing Tylers face and fell for him the first time I saw it but unfortunately there is no way I can have another dog at the moment. I do hope he finds a home soon. That's great news about Bondi, hope she continues to heal quickly No squeals from Louis since I got home, but he's not really putting any weight on it and sits or lies down as soon as he comes to a stop I sense we'll be back to the vet soon..... eta - thanks for all the well wishes for him

Happy Belated Birthday Chance How's Bondi doing today boxagirl? I hope she is continuing to improve Well I got home last night to a very much not improved Louis He seemed fine on monday, but last night he was squealing with pain when I touched him and when he moved at times. So it was a quick turn around and out to the vet. It seems to be above his hip joint where he is sore, so he is on anti-inflamatories and pain killers for a couple of days, and keeping him as quiet as poss. The only thing I can think that started this was swimming in the pool on saturday, and then him and Daisy had a rare crazy 5 mins chasing each other round the garden, so I wonder if he twisted it somehow? A gardener came to trim some big shrubs in our garden yesterday, so I bet they were jumping up and down at the door and going crazy while he was in the garden, that may have been why it was so much worse when I got home yesterday? He does have a low pain threshold, but I felt so sorry for him as he wimpered all the way to the vets

Priceless! what a great photo :D

I know I just hope the Staffy was the bitch.

Brighter, but still a bit reluctant to jump up, will see how he is when I get home. Poor Bondi - hope she picks up soon boxagirl eta - I took some pics recently of a work collegue's cats, and discussed how I hated seeing puppies etc in pet shops and talked about puppy farming. Well over the weekend when shopping for a scratching pole, they bought a Chi x Staffy for $700 from a pet shop It's a tiny little thing and I dont think they have had a dog before, so I've pointed her to the puppy pages here and said make sure you treat it like a dog, not a cat!

CrazyCresties replied to kja's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I'd imagine trying to fend off a randy male turtle is no joke Awesome sight Do you get any extra predators with this many pre-occupied turtles around? -
Happy Birthday Tiggy and Sophie Boxagirl - how is Bondi doing? that sounds awful, poor girl Louis is being a bit reluctant to jump up on things today, normally he is like a monkey and lives on the back of the sofa.......I wonder if he tweaked a muscle when I gave him a swim in the pool yesterday ? As a kid I had pet snakes in the UK, and was fascinated by them, I always remember reading about snakes in Aus and how there are more venomous than non-venomous ones!! I will always keep a very healthy distance from any I see over here!

Hi Christine Most Perth DOLers recommend Kathy Kopellis McCleod - http://kathysdogtraining.com.au/ I've also had good help from paw prints pet training - http://pawprintspettraining.com.au/ Good luck! Gosh you could be describing my Louis to a T! I got Kathy in to assess Louis and have been attending her 'reactive rover' classes with him - I can't recommend her enough, she has help so much with Louis and taught me a lot about how to manage him and his fear behaviour. He too was a rescue and fitted in beautifully with his home 'pack', but has issue with strangers and other dogs. Good luck with your little boy

Awww congrats but MG those pics are sooo cute

I find this comment odd. I questioned the UK Border Collie breeders about why their pet puppies, that would be desexed anyway, needed to be DNA health tested before sale. Their response was that it would be rare for anyone to desex a purebred dog so they needed to know the DNA status of carrier or normal before they left. They put breeding endorsements on their dogs so the progeny cannot be registered with the KC, but even then they claim most pet dogs are not desexed. After living in the UK for most of my 43 years, I can tell you that vets over there would not bat an eyelid if a pet was brought in for neutering. It's probably the most common surgery they perform.
