Will pop down and ask , I think she was on a wait list for one and he came up because his coat was too fluffy so breeder let him go .
-
Aziah , think i have spelt that wrong breeds them and is really helpful. Friends in my street spent ages trying to find another Cardi after their 2 died, and very good old ages, she ended up driving from NSW to Qld to get one, they are hard to come by. I can ask her who her breeder was if you want a Cardi? Her pup is gorgeous.

Gosh I remember all you went through for him , you did amazing . -
i already get people cross the road as soon as they see us, its funny, especially if i need to cross too, then they have to cross again! Last time i took her o the petshop for a bath there were 2 big oodles in the cubicle next to us, one just flew at her through the glass, owner just gave me a disgusted look as if it was our fault, cheeky cow! Luckily the girls in the store love her and come and fuss over her.

Sometimes breeders are bad at answering emails, i had a nightmare trying to get mY last dog, they just don't respond! try calling. And aske to see parents, don't be afraid to walk away if they are dodgy, there are plenty out there. -
People will run away even faster now !

I know some have questionable temperaments so be careful . Make sure the parents have solid temps . I think you sound ideal for one . I had one in suburbia , my neighbour had 2 , he came from the country and they adjusted as he took them to work and they were by his side constantly . His red boy was 21 when he died. -
I do have a basket muzzle , might try it. I don’t give rawhide or anything like that as she swallows stuff whole , she does have dogchocs which she gets one for going to her crate when she comes in . She walks like a beagle with her nose to the ground and so I have to walk looking at the floor too , berries on driveways is another favorite grab!

Bull terrier. She actually vomited again yesterday, late arvo again, bile , a bit of bone in there. I did pull a bit of bone out of her mouth the day before on the walk she found while we were walking down the street and she did make a grab at some duck poo several times that day too as it had been raining and it was on the grass verge. Her poop is solid, no wind atm, off all meds now. I am still not convinced its the food either, more the crap she grabs at. I gave her a chicken frame for tea last night, she had never had one before and took her 20 mins to work it out, for a dog that shreds cushions and toys in seconds i was surprised! i will email Dr symes.

I lost my old blue boy last year, he came from the pound as a pup and was one of the best dogs i owned, i still miss him everyday. they are very loyal ,smart, pretty healthy allround dogs. i have tried to get another mature one a few times this year, but hasn't worked out, the last one turned out to be bad with other dogs, in suburbia was a disaster. I'd have one again in a heartbeat if i could find an older stable one , but the good ones don't seem to get rehomed and i am not keen on puppy route again. i would see if anyone on here can recommend any breeders , around my area there are "Allrounders ACDS" i know the breeder but she isn't having a litter till later in the year, but you could ask her to point you in the direction of a good breeder near you. I personally love the breed. -
just a thought, was it better when it was around your dogs? could be it can't cope with being an only dog and needs another for support, is that an option?

You can buy Zantac tabs over the counter , because my dogs are heavier it’s ok to give half a tablet . It wasn’t till I met my friend over Xmas with her Belgian I mentioned the big vet bill , she goes there and used to use our old vet there too and she reminded me and said she does it too . Old age seems to be making me forget .
-
I had completely forgotten my old vet used to tell me to give Bonn half a Zantac tab if she had a dicky tum . I have weaned her off all her old food and she is now in Proplan sensitive which she loves , although her coat isn’t shiny anymore . 2 people suggested Costco fish and potatoes which is a third of the price , but while she is ok on this going to see how we go first .

3 months i find is how long it takes for them to settle. Is your mum over fussing her, trying too hard? I would be ignoring her and going about my business in a confident way, she will be picking up on your mums concerns. She could also just be a nervy dog who is never going to improve, my neighbour had 2 cavs, one the biggest social butterfly, the other ran from her own shadow and never improved.

Didn’t Melwez ? Spelling is wrong I think have a lot to do with this subject ? Also you could shoot Steve at k9 pro an email , think he has dealt with some too . There is one on my news feed this morning , dog caught child in face by accident and it was seized as owners didn’t comply with all the dangerous dog restrictions in time and its been at RSPCA for 7 months while they fight it . -
Looks like a bit of amstaff and who knows what else in the mix. as long as the temp is good and you love him it doesn't really matter.
-
its was $90 for the jab, its upselling, overkill, and just lost them a customer.
-
sorry SM , forgot about that. Can you send it again please. She is drinking fine, i googled Cerenia and its for excessive vomiting when they can't stop and travel sickness, i hardly think chucking up a bit of bile a couple of times in last week comes under excessive vomiting! Scrappi, it was the Balanced life i thought looked ok, however it costs a fortune . She seems a bit happier now, she has 5 more days on the Metrogyl, and 2 weeks od cephalexinto go. Pro plan looks the best of the bunch so far.
-
Also discovered VANS do a kibble now which looks good , albeit pricey !
-
She finally pooped , very dry and she struggled . Just called vets to see how long it lasts as still lethargic , and nurse said it doesn’t have that effect , ( every website I checked said it does) . 24 hours is what she said . However just googled Metrogyl which he gave her too and that also can cause it and constipation . Wish I hadn’t gone at all now and looking for new vet !
-
Still hasn't pooped since Friday and lethargic now. going to ring the vets this morning and find out how long the Cerenia jab lasts, (no idea apart from bumping up the bill ), why he gave it to her, not impressed tbh.
-
I have since read the ingredients on the 2 kibbles her mentioned and they are not great , mind you she currently gets a cup of super coat with her raw and that seems worse . someone mentioned Natural Balance to me which looks ok . will get dog probiotics . My worry now is since going to the vet yesterday and having the jab to settle her tum she hasn’t pooped . She had been going fine and she always goes twice a day , morning and evening walks .
-
Chemist ? Dose?
-
Silly question, but Probiotics, do you buy them for dogs? Do i wait till after the antibiotics are finished or now?
-
She hadn't had any issues till recently. Breeder just said cheap supermarket kibble, she was fat when i got her, but her pups had literally just left her. 2nd opinion, hmmm , was $260 yesterday ! ,( antibiotics, jab to settle tum which i thought was overkill, she has a scabby nose too atm which won't heal so he took a scrape and gave antibiotics for that too). My old vet from the same practice passed away last year he was wonderful, he was fine with me feeding raw , when he went i did change practice , i saw Rappie who was wonderful, but not near me and is now off to attend to another little one ,so i went back to the old practice as this vet does have a good reputation and he has been great with her runny nose and what to try which has worked. I have considered using a muzzle, i already have a basket one from years ago, but reluctant as people already cross the road when they see us, plus we get lots of loose dogs around and i worry about her defending herself if she needed to, although she probably wouldn't. i am thinking leave it and give the muzzle a go? What about changing the kibble to better quality one? or are they all just the same with different price tags? She has also been on Pred X for months with her runny nose and only weaned her off it 10 days ago, so could be her immune system is all over the place? Pers, i thought roo was low fat?
