  1. Looks like it wasn’t their dog , Mum walking child in pram and dog jumped fence and attacked .
  2. Is she really that old, i remember when you got her. Special girl.
  3. Thank you for that . Barf is rather pricey , according to chart and her weight 2.8 patties a day and you only get 12 in a box , but if it’s just short term I guess I can do it . She swallows wings whole , but I can try the other bones you suggest . I have owned this breed since I was 19 , first back in the UK when I became smitten after looking after a friends girl when he went on tour . Zelda is the best I have had , complete clown and rock solid temp .
  4. Any reason he can’t be outside when you go to work ? Far more interesting for him . 5k walk is probably too much for a pup that young and large breed . Are you not training him to pee outside when you are home rather than pads ? Food wise , can’t tell from that pic .
  5. Thankyou for that, i did email him about the issue and got no response. Do you think her PH will have leveled now she is off meds or is there something i should be doing to level it? I'm almost at the end of this big bag of kibble so need to decide wether to try going back to roo and VANS. I have to say as a single mum its way cheaper feeding this than the Roo, but chicken mince is way fatty, i have never tried her with it but my previous bully had bouts of pancreatitis hence the change to Roo. She also eats the kibble way slower , the raw is gone before i have left the room! I have also never found a bone that is safe to give her.
  6. Is it purebred? if so you might be able to ask in the breed section for help, if not rescue section might give you some leads.
  7. Agree, kids involved get help. Its not normal, and it will escalate as it already has. she has probably just taken her time to settle in and now feels its time to flex her muscles. Start to read NILF , and find a good trainer.
  8. A puppy farm gets through as long as its a nice new shiny one with lots of bullshit.
  9. Depends on the dogs, i have had 4 or more boys at once with no problems, what are they like with other males and females you have met?
  10. she has always just had a biscuit for brekky, or sardines. no bile so far.
  11. Thanks for checking on us . I decided to give the kibble a go , I tried Proplan sensitive first , her coat went really coarse and she shed worse than my dally did and poop not firm , so after the bag had gone and no improvement I have been using the Costco fish and potatoe, coat is shiny , back to normal shedding , no wind or vomiting . So just going to accept she does better on kibble . I have tried a chicken carcass twice too , but on both occasions she was fine till about a third was left when she swallowed it whole , vomited it back up and did it again , and both times was flat and unsettled after , gave her a Zantac last time . So haven’t risked another carcass , and so far every bone I have given her she breaks bits off , even the round but off a marrowbone and nearly choked ! She loves the kibble actually , I give a biscuit for brekky and sardines or egg once a week .
  12. No surprise there . He sells oodles for $4700, and frenchies at $10,000. Cutting out the middle man now . The shop is in an ever expanding area full of well off families . The AWL support them too , probably going to take the ex breeders as in his blog they will have no more than 3 litters before he rehomes them at 4 yrs old . Every time I questioned them on FB about basically breeding a puppy they deleted my comments .
  13. I have never met a Pie I liked , they can be very dodgy , hence 2 at once will be hard to socialise as they will back each other up and are a strong breed to be a leader over . Flame suit on .
  14. 2 at once, your game, surprised breeder let you take two at once.
  15. i had an older female from a breeder, papers don't always mean no health issues, mine came with heaps and was pts 3 years later at a young age . I would say its a bit pricey personally, perhaps look on the breeders page here and approach breeders whose dogs you like the look of and see if they have any mature dogs looking for homes, often its just the cost of desexing you have to cover, unless they are a pricey trendy breed and then they still want shed loads for them, but dobes aren't. I would say both breeds are not for the novice, dobes can be a bit neurotic, not a fan, and GSD's you need to do alot of resaerch to get a healthy one, and they need a job to do or develop bad traits.
  16. Basically rescue is there to take the ones who will cost too much to fix or too old to adopt . Never liked this pound . There are some seriously dodgy dogs in there going back out too .
  17. I was there last week to look at a dog for a rescuer , labelled a Tenterfield , was a backyard bred chi x jack , that had been used to Byb till being offloaded st 12 . They had half the pound off limits as now you can’t see the dogs till they have done their time . Rescue has to buy them , unless they are in a bad way and need heaps of vet work then they call them . But bloody cheeky .
  18. Rotties were bred to herd so different to a GSD . Go into the breed section and ask there . Some great Rottie breeders on here who work their dogs too .
  19. If the vet tries to give you advice on behaviour , ignore it. You wouldn’t go to the dentist if you had a cold , think of it that way . Behavoir is a complex thing that needs an expert . it could be it’s taken a while for her to find her mojo after being so sick and now she is pushing the boundaries .
  20. Goldies are not that common anymore. I would start by looking at breeders dogs you like, see what health tests should be done on the breed, then contact the breeders whose dogs you like the look of and ask if they have any future litters planned? Alot never make the for sale page as they get sold like this, people asking before and going on the list.
  21. Go for a vet check first, but the fact she is getting dodgy with other dogs out and about too suggests to me she is flexing her muscles and she needs reining in. Read NILF. People often go soft on dogs they rescue because they feel sorry for them, don't, instill some boundries and start being a strong leader with her. And don't put the other dog in harms way, seperate them if need be. You may need expert help with this to see exactly whats going on.
  22. i don't know of any companies that go up the mountains. its not that far from Sydney, can they not just meet half way?
  23. i just watched it for the first time, that bloody dog was not letting go even after being whacked so why the hell the owner thought a hose would work is pathetic. I'm so freakin sick of badly bred amstaffs and staffys attacking dogs, i own a bull breed , but personally hate both breeds these days as there are so many dodgy ones out there.
