  1. Sorry Westiemum, I didn't see your post. It came through quarantine no problems (I ordered it from the US). I am giving her 1 in the morning and 1 with dinner and I *think* she may be showing some improvement but she is so weird ( ) it's a bit hard to tell.
  2. Any updates YG? How did you get on at the Police station? Hoping everything and all puppers have calmed down a little today *hugs*
  3. I have 70 kgs of German Shepherds here I am sure would officially scare the crap out of this freak if he bothered to come calling again you are welcome to borrow! Hoping the Police take this seriously for you.
  4. I have just bought 2 of the cloud ones from clean run for my boys upcoming surgery. They are cheap and with free shipping I thought it worth a shot. If they work it will be so much more comfortable for all of us  For what it's worth, none of my dogs have ever needed the cone of shame after desexing although my foster (male) did.
  5. Oh my dog that is freaky. Please take extra care of yourself and dogs and great idea to see if maybe someone could lend you a camera.
  6. I am so very sorry. Please look after yourself. Run free Bison.
  7. No worries! :) That does sound like a good price!
  8. No worries! :) That does sound like a good price!
  9. Not off hand but I will have a hunt for the receipt tomorrow (still haven't unpacked properly). I know it was heaps cheaper via the WA lab though.
  10. YES! Retief Botha at Maroochydore Vet Surgery - Maud St, Maroochydore. I had heard on here that the lab in WA is much cheaper than Gribbles so he kindly set up an account so he could send my dogs bloods there!!! If you do go there, please say hello from me :) I'll have a hunt in a bit for the ph number for you. ETA : 5443 1330
  11. My vet prescribes Lovan, generic Prozac, not the more expensive dog version. 28 tablets $14 (20 mg fluoxetine) if you shop around chemists. You'd have to check with the vet before supplementing eg tryptophan etc Thank you :) I know they had to get it in (had never prescribed it before) and they were shocked at the cost too.
  12. I was going to suggest getting a urine sample tested as a starting point. Good luck.
  13. Thank you very much Smartypaws. I appreciate your story and I am happy that your boy is starting to see good results :) Well the cholodin I ordered arrived today so I am going to give it 2 weeks tops and then I will either put her on Prozac or see if I could try endep. Thank you so much for asking after Cooper too *hugs*. One of the specialists had to postpone so now we have both appointments on Nov 12.
  14. I am so very sorry to read this *hugs* Would a B12 injection be worth a try? I have no advice just thoughts and prayers for you and Java.
  15. Thank you all very much for your responses. Molly has had a history of freaking out. She has had more than one complete blood count and urinalysis. My vet even thought perhaps lead poisoning. We have recently ruled out thyroid issues. I am on anti-dep myself but I just really wanted to exhaust almost every other option for her first. Don't ask my why, I'm not sure, it just didn't sit right with me for some reason. I have tried body-wrapping before and also DAP, rescue remedy and Animals Apawthecary tranqulity blend (which did help my cat). I am still waiting for the Cholodin (from the US) but I think she will go onto Prozac anyway. Yesterday the poor girl was shaking for no reason that I could see.
  16. Thank you Aiden, I admit I do think she is beyond that but was hopeful! Is Endep actually Amitriptiline (sp)?
  17. Thank you so very much BC, it is nice (in a way not for either of our dogs though!) to know I am not alone. Stella sounds exactly like Molly. Thank you for the compliment :) Cholodin is something a friend whose GSD went nutty suggested I try. I figure I can only try and if it doesn't help, then the Prozac it will be. This is what I have ordered: http://www.healthypets.com/chca50tach.html And a bit more detail: Choline: From the link below - "Choline, like folate, is a nutrient that helps with brain and memory development. It is an essential nutrient that is required for life’s most basic functions, such as normal cell activity, liver function and transporting nutrients throughout the body." (it has been linked to a reduced risk of dementia. AHA!) http://www.cholineinfo.org/index.asp Phosphatidylcholine From the link below. "possibly improves brain function and memory capacity" Also helps with liver functions and helps other cells do their job. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phosphatidylcholine dl-methionineFrom the (difficult to read) link below: "Several studies showed that methionine restriction also increses lifespan and inhibits aging-related disease processes" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methionine Inositol "is a member of the family of B-Complex vitamins and is an essential pet vitamin for dogs and cats. In addition to being used for energy production, Inositol has a calming effect on your pets brain." (again, AHA!) http://www.drcarol.com/Inositol-for-Dogs-and-Cats Ow wow that is great the Endep is cheaper, 28 days of Prozac for Moo cost $63 eek!
  18. Thank you BC, I appreciate it :) You girl sounds very similar to Molly, she is anxious in general I am waiting on a supplement called Cholodin to try and if that doesn't help, then I will start her on the Prozac (I have it here already). She totally flipped out yesterday on our walk, there was a dog behind a fence and she spotted it before I did. She was on her easy walk harness and was so crazy she literally flipped over Thank you Snook :)
