  1. Stella had Mange too as a puppy, looked terrible, like no one loved her. Very far from the truth, little princess in spoilt rotten
  2. Quick up date regarding trying to find a pin brush I like. Yes well, I brought 2 PP pin brushes, one 20 & the other 27m pins & I don't like either of them they are way to firm for my liking & I found them not very comfortable to hold at all. I attempted to start to brush Sonny, didn't last 5 seconds with it & went to my old pin. I don't know it must be just me So if anyone is in the market for a new PP pin brush or 2 feel free to pm me. They will be going for a bit cheaper otherwise they will just be sitting in the cupboard. I would rather someone get some use out of them. So back to the drawing board for me  Next I might try the new Lazorlites pinbrush, see how we go.
  3. That's + 1 from me too ! K9angel you did everything humanly possible for Cookie girl. She was pts with the kindness of your hands holding her. So she was set free without feeling cold, hungry or frightened. She was surrounded by love. Much more dignified than a shopping trolley, on her own. As someone else said you don't have to justify your actions to anyone. Animals are very stoic & you can never exactly tell what is wrong or if they are in pain at times. I too believe in "my" heaven filled with all my beautiful animals that have passed & lots of new ones. As for the culprits that did this unspeakable , horrific act to Cookie, they will be as far away from "my" heaven as possible, HELL & that would be too good for them.
  4. I was wondering the same thing. If it is wide enough sounds like a great idea.
  5. Thanks for that link....but is it wide enough ??
  6. That one I put the link to above on Ebay is only $96.00. My biggest worry about putting them on a table is them jumping off..but I guess it's like everything, they have to be conditioned to it..ie..value has to be put on the table. ATM my young guy wont even let me brush him even with a soft bristle brush. Down along his back is sort of OK but as soon as I try to do his sides or neck he snaps at my hand. His tail has dreds in it so I will have to something with him soon....Im working on it, but I don't want to get nipped maybe I should wear a glove. Just a thought Sheena but I am in the process of getting Stella used to wearing a plastic muzzle as our last vet visit was a complete disaster. She got herself really worked up & lashed out at our vet biting him on the face Not good at all The only reason he still has his nose is cause she is an overshot girl & can't quite get a really good grip. Thank god ! It all happened so quickly, even took the vet by total surprise as I have not had any trouble in the past with her going to the vets. Anyway was just thinking you may be able to try your boy with one & gradually edge him in to grooming that way. At least he won't be able to nip you. Just trying to help :) Is this the sort of muzzle you have Plastic muzzle Yes Sheena that is the exact same one. Just measure his muzzel to get the right size :)
  7. Yes since I swapped to grainfree here both of mine look heaps better, their coats are so shiny & they just look gleaming. Their energy levels have risen by alot as well. They just got more spring in their step :)
  8. I have my 2 Border's on Earthborn Coastal Catch ATM. They were on TOTW salmon previously which they did terrific on but with the 2 recalls on it I stopped feeding them it till they get to the bottom of the problem. They are doing just as well so far on EBCC though it has only been a week or so & they like it as much as TOTW. Seems like a really good product so far so I am happy to have it as a back up or alternative to TOTW :)

  10. What a great idea. My step son has a rescue Dob that has a trouble from time to time with a bloody tail so I will pass that trick of the trade on to him. Thanks for sharing dancinbcs :)
  11. My girl hates grooming with a passion too. She is improving very slowly. I groom my 2 daily without fail. I think this has helped but we have ways to go. She used to growl & lip curl at me from the day I got her at 3 months old but I just persisted every day, extented the time & being more invasive with her each day. She is 18 months old now & still hates being groomed but "suffers" it . Poor girl :)
  12. I am in the exactly the same position as you Sheena & have been having 2 visits a week to the Chiro as I have a bad back & think all the bending over grooming my 2 isn't helping. Oh the joys of getting old LOL. I have been saving for a grooming table. Sorry I am of no help to you but will be following this post with keen interest. I saw some on ebay for $260 with the grooming arm. Thought they looked good.
  13. Wow ! Awesome job. Love the pic's with all the toy's. They both look wonderfully happy & content. The condition they were both in previously, they look just amazing now :)
  14. I have a Booster Bath & use it daily for my 2 Borders. I have it outside & my OH is a plumber so we have hot water outside anyway. He also made me a ramp for it so the dogs more or less just put themselves up & into it & a filter type container so I can put my shampoo or conditioner in it & it mixers with the water & comes out diluted through the hose head if that makes any sense. I love my B. Bath & would highly recommend them :)
  15. We are on our third different type of lawn in 4 years & we are back to dirt in most spots & the rest of it is burnt. We don't know what else to do. Not a good look when we are trying to sell our house soon.
  16. Have Kuranda beds on the backdeck for our 2 during the day & we take them camping when we go. They are excellent quality & still look like brand new.
  17. OMG !!! Holy hell nice job there donatella.
  18. Gee Lowenhart they are a great price, aren't they? They look exactly as the as PP your right. Many thanks for that :)
  19. Thanks Tassie. Thats why I thought I'd ask about the CC pins before I brought one. They are expensive. I do always use some sort of prep spray before I do anything. I have always groomed both of mine from day one & every day. Sonny loves it & as soon as he sees the grooming bag come out, he is runs up to me & will stand there for ever if need be. Stella just hates & always has. She used to give a few growls & lips curls when I first started grooming her at 12 weeks, little bugger but now she just rolls her eyes at me, "are you done yet" I am saving for a grooming table ATM. There is one on Ebay I like $270 that looks OK. Our outside table is glass so I am reluctant to put either of them up there. I did when they were little though. I am having back issues & am pretty sure it's from all the bending over for extended periods of time. Not as young as I used to be
  20. I cried myself to sleep thinking about little miss Cookie I'm sure I would not of been alone there. She was such a brave girl. No wonder she was hissing at you when you first went near her. She must have been so very frightened. It's just sickening to think of what had happened to her. What is wrong with people. How could they think that this is O.K. to hurt & torment a poor defenceless kitten. It just begger's belief. I am numb emotionally today just thinking about it. I do believe in karma though so I can only hope it happens very soon to those responsible for this horrific, cowardly act
  21. Oh dear. I can't believe it. Poor little Cookie This is just the most tragic thing I think I have ever heard. I am at a loss for words & I have such an ache in my heart. To think someone actually SHOT her then tried to bloody drown her. It is just too much for me to get my head around. I'm too upset. K9 angel I think you do an amazing job & I'm so sorry for your loss. You tried everything you could & at least little miss Cookie knew what is was NOT to feel hungry or cold. For the first time in her very short life to feel so loved & so content she just had to purr. All thanks to you, your huge heart & lovely family K9 angel Go play & run free little miss Cookie girl No one can EVER hurt you again. You'll be so sadly missed & never forgotten. You have touched so many hearts you sweet, special girl.
  22. K9 angel. This must be just so very hard for you. I have become so attached to Cookie, I can only imagine how hard it is for you & you family. I would be getting another opinion if at all possible. I would like to help $$ cause I just think Cookie has a bit more fight left in her. Could you give me details so I could help out. It will only be a small help but at least it will be something I guess. Good luck & Cookie has my blessing what ever you decide. You know what is best for her +1 Great post aussielover.
  23. K9 angle, hats off to you & your darling family for your total devotion & dedication. Have been watching Cookie's progress & she looks amazing in such a short space of time. Marvellous Everything is crossed for her today at the vets You can do it Cookie girl. Had to edit this, Oh S#%T not good news Yes the 'I thinks' from the vet make me think, hmmm. Bloody hell Oh this is so not fair, poor Cookie.
  24. Thanks for the info espinay2. Those CC Fusion pins do look good & I love the pink one  I have a Les pooch Brush & absolutely love it. Is is my workhorse too. I use it then a pin, then go over with a metal comb to get all the loose hair off each day. I had a Lawrence slicker previously as well, not a patch on the Les P though. Pricey but well worth the extra IMHO Beautiful dogs by the way espinay2. Just had a pick browse on your site. Just lovely & their coats are awesome.
  25. Stainless steel food bowls with rubber on the bottom here. Think they are called Durapet. Stops them from skidding around & they have a lifetime warranty. I do like ceramic but they are just a bit heavy for me. Also for drinking but outside for water OH got a 9 gallon SS beer keg & cut it in half & put garden hose around the cut edge so as pups can't hurt themselves on it. They love it & I think SS does keep the water cooler in Summer.
