  1. I asked in the German Shepherd group but no traffic seems to be happening there. I have a friend who is looking at getting a GSD and she knows the parents have to have hips and elbows done, what other health tests to they need before they breed or more to the point, what does the breeding community expect to better the breed?
  2. These are great Thankyou, something to look at. I found this one and it looks like it would be good too, what's people's opinions? www.britishcollegeofcaninestudies.com I'd be looking at the Dog Behaviour Practitioner Diploma. Even though it says there's one practical day involved over there, there is recommendations about it from people in New Zealand and South Africa, surely they can't have all flown over there, they must have worked out a practical day over here?
  3. I have a long history of dog obedience behind me and have been a obedience instructor, agility instructor and have run a puppy preschool before, but I have nothing formal behind me. It may be time to do some studying. I'm not interested in the Cert IV's the Tafes are offering as I feel I'm past that and possibly looking at going into the behavioural side of things. I have done home visits before and have helped people and they're dogs, just not formally. World wide and Australia wide where do people recommend looking at studying?
  4. Hey My Hubby is a boilermaker by trade and is quite competent to make me one, just needs some designs or drawings, does anyone have any ideas?
  5. Thankyou, read her name, but wasn't sure if she was the author, will have to have a look for it.
  6. Goodluck Jelly I'll be thinking of you on the 14th.
  7. Thanks Ridgiemal, that was exactly what I was after.
  8. That is the sort of thing I was looking at, but need it taller. Thankyou!!
  9. As the title says, I'm after a dog feeder stand (as in I put a bowl of food in it, not an automatic feeder) for a dobie, so taller. Any recommendations of where to go??
  10. For the rotties and dobies, have you tried the bonnet method. I've now done it on 2 dobies and very happy with the result. You just have to keep an eye (or nose) out for ear infections.
  11. It was a brilliant day and everyone loved it. Please see our FB page from above (its buzzing) about pics and videos and Di from Animal Images was down there taking photos, so hopefully in the next day or so. We hope to hold another one in October. Thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who helped!!
  12. Today's the day, I'll try to get some photos.
  13. If anyone is looking for something new and exciting to do with your dogs tomorrow (Sunday 25th) West Coast Dog Sports are running a Lure Coursing Fun Day at the Guildford Polo Grounds. Day starts at 10am and food and drink available.
  14. Hi Seld I love the looks of that dog park, but I don't do them after I took my Guys to one and they picked up kennel cough (even though my two were vaccinated against it). Scared me a bit. Ellenbrook is lovely. Well I finally found a group, that would be willing to accept us mid term and had my first go back last night, and it was great to be back into the swing of things.
  15. I'm new to Perth and I'm really struggling to find a club, that will let you either start now or really soon. Both my daughter and myself are still in training stages, but hope to trial. We're living in Ellenbrook, but I'm happy to drive. Please let me know the clubs you recommend.
  16. There used to be a fantastic website, that had step by step pictures of the Bonnett Method of ear taping, I have a funny feeling it was a boxer or a Dane puppy. Can anyone find it for me, I've looked but I can't find it. They had tape, straws and a cable tie. I was trying to verbally describe it for a friend and not doing such a great job, but this website was great.
  17. It was about 10 years ago, but yes I only put in one and got it. All your missing out on is the money if they say no.
  18. I know someone who uses this vet too and has nothing but praise for them - and yes I've seen their ad offering CCQ discount. I didn't know they were available 24/7 ........ not saying they don't just wondering? No they don't do the after hours, but if you need it, they will talk to the after hours vets for you. But they hold really long hours 7am - 7pm I think. And there has been times where I have rung them just after 7pm and the vet would talk to me well after that. They looked after my fur kids fantastically!!
  19. If you have 2 you are happy with, send them in and try them. They will only say no and knock them back. I did it with mine, with only the one and got it. It all just depends what is out there already.
