Desexing is unlikely to change it. You need to step in and repremand him, you also need to control the resources he finds so valuable i.e. don't leave toys laying around, he gets toys when you give them to him and he gives them up when you take them away. Can you tether him in the area you're playing with the other dog so you won't be harassed and can correct him i.e. verbal repremand, go to him, tell him to sit and keep repeating this until he does it and then praise. You didn't mention anything about repremanding your puppy, does this mean you do not? Sorry to say but when your dog brings you toys to play with you should really be ignoring them, this is your dog demanding something of you.....you do everything on your terms, perhaps you would like to look into a program called NILIF = Nothing in life is free.

13 weeks old puppies can be allergic and it does happen and it's not rare.

http://www.miteyfresh.com.au/page/skudo_ti...r_for_pets.html Skudo Electronic Tick Repeller for dogs and cats Your family and pets will just love you for this! Safe for puppies, kittens, pregnant or older pet Lasts up to one whole year Non Toxic Efficient Convenient Environmentally friendly no chemicals or odours Skudo Electronic Tick Repeller is a small weather proof device which delivers harmless ultrasonic pulses intolerable to ticks and fleas, but completely undetectable by pets and humans. Skudo has a convenient small collar attachment and is powered by a lithium battery that lasts up to one year. Because there are no chemicals or toxins, Skudo is perfect for chemical sensitive pets especially older, sick, pregnant or lactating animals and of course, puppies and kittens. It is completely harmless to humans. Tested & proven by Professor Genchi at the University of Milan, Italy, Faculty of Parasitology in 1992. Further studies conducted by Professor Doctor Giselle Zoccal Mingoti at the State University Paolista, St Paul, Brazil Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Currently Mitey Fresh is sourcing testing here in Australia, particularly for the paralysis tick. "Years ago I loved to garden then the area became invested with ticks and I become extremely ill almost every time I walked into the garden because I seemed to attract any tick within 10 metres. Once I was in bed for several days. "Before I was using the repeller, I would get one or more ticks on me every time I even walked into the garden. The only way I sometimes beat them was to cover up with gum boots, a hooded plastic raincoat, a hat and plastic washing up gloves. This was not much fun, especially on hot days. Even so one might slip under all the layers. Since I started using the repeller, I have been gardening almost every day. I have gradually discarded all the plastic. Now I wear a hat but have bare feet, bare legs and arms. "I know the ticks are still in the garden because my son is still finding them on our dog and it has cost us yet another $220 in veterinary fees...it's just fantastic to be able to go back in the garden." Mrs Meghan S. Mona Vale NSW Skudo is available nationally from pet stores and grooming salons. Your family and pets will just love you! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To maximise protection, particularly if you live in a tick infested area, Skudo can be used in conjunction with other products. In areas of severe infestation, Skudo cannot be guaranteed to provide 100% protection. Check your animal regularly, regardless of which product you use. For flea control, we also recommend that you control your outside environment as much as possible and treat areas around pet's bedding, house and garden. For personal protection against ticks, visit Mighty Tick-Off. For livestock protection against tick please contact Mitey Fresh. We welcome feedback from people using Skudo to assist future development. As a result of your fantastic feedback, a new device has been launched in August 07 with additional features. Did you know that... A human can hear around 20, 000hz, a dog can hear around 27,000 hz and a tick or flea can hear around 40,000hz. Nature is truly amazing! Therefore all of us, as well as pets, cannot hear Skudo Electronic Tick Repeller. The effect of sound waves do travel through walls, in much the same way you hear a stereo. Naturally, the sound waves diminish with distance and floor to floor if you are considering attaching the device to the pet's bedding. Paralysis ticks (lxodes holocyclus) are found on the eastern seaboard, from North Queensland to Northern Victoria. In the northern parts of Australia, paralysis ticks may be found all year round, while in the southern areas, the season begins in spring and finishes in late autumn. Paralysis ticks are found on animals that live in or near thick bushland whether native or domestic.

Please Review How I Am Handling Chelsea.

Agreed, I accidentaly created a conditioned behaviour that when I ran the dog looks behind to see what's coming, it took a while to re-condition that behaviour and that wasn't on a completely unstable dog. -

Do it yourself *sniggers and runs away* -
There are some studies that show a lower protein amounts can assist with aggression. Sounds like you just have a training issue, perhaps you would be wise to head to obedience school or get one on one tution? Effectively you have a puppy, I think you should lower your expectations of a perfectly behaved puppy and seek obedience assistance.

Aloveen gets a bad reaction in our house, I blieve it's the Oats? Have you looked into the Eqyss Itchy Range? We're using them at the moment for a dog with bad allergies and are happy with them and have been able to drop the Cortisone dose. http://www.petsonthepark.com.au/category123_1.htm We use the Itch Shampoo, Spray (when required), Coat Rebuilder as a 5 minute leave in then rince out after the weekly itch shampoo as the moment as we have a pretty bad coat.

I was under the understanding that shaving a dog right back like a BC would change the texture, so perhaps you're stuck with it. Hopefully a groomer can pop on and confirm whether that is the case. I guess with being Summer you wouldn't see a lot of coat growth? I've heard of a couple of products that may be able to assist you: Crown Coat contains 1% pure Royal Jelly. Designed to encourage hair growth and improve quality of coat and skin condition. Royal Jelly contains very high levels of natural proteins – fructose, sugars and B Complex Vitamins for prolonged youthfulness and general well-being Used as per instructions this will encourage strong healthy skin and coat http://www.groomersproducts.com.au/equineg...ersproducts.htm Royal Jelly Shampoo Containing 1% pure Royal Jelly. Designed to encourage hair growth, ideal for bitches after litter or phantom pregnancies who have dropped their coat. It will also greatly improve the quality of coat & skin. Do not use in conjunction with any other product http://www.groomersproducts.com.au/groomersproducts.htm EQyss coat rebuilder COATS: Strengthens hair so mane and tail won't break off easily. Makes hair healthier and stronger. Amazing results when used on mane rubbed out with combo rugs / hoods. If you are using fly rugs, with neck covers then using this product once a week on the mane will prevent it thinning out. http://www.petsonthepark.com.au/prod1120.htm This is an interesting read: http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/grooming/growhair.htm

Without being dramatic now That media hype was without the backing from the science community. Just about the whole of Australia would be dead of Cancer if alcohol causes Cancer in such small doses. Perhaps something like LaserLites might be what you're looking for?

Hiya Have you had a chat to your Vet about it? Probably best to start there so you know what to do going forward i.e. you can have a tape test to see if there is an unusual amount of yeast which can cause some skin irritation. The bum dragging could be worms or anal glands that need to be expressed. Have you used a new chemical such as the foam you put on the carpets or a new washing liquid? Would you consider the burping normal?

Sounds like Flea Allergy Dermatitis? Just because of how you explained it. I guess it could have been the food?

How come you let your dog annoy other people trying to enjoy their holiday? Why give him the option, put it down and pick it up 15 minutes later, don't give him any treats. Give the dog some Rescue Remedy if you feel he is fretting. See your Vet if you're very concerned but do not just give in to a fussy dog.

Great Dane who finished off a family block of chocolate with no even an upset tummy....go figure.

I'm in awe of you that you remember the course!

That sounds normal...i.e. blad patches coming from scratching and chewing alot. But you need to wonder why the dog is chewing on himself a lot. Yeah well that's a given LOL But getting bald patches is pretty typical from scratching and chewing and the OP seemed to think that was unusual.

Why eat rodants when you have beef, chicken, lamb etc. It's kinda gross?

Another Question... Best Cooling Mat?
sas replied to Kelly_Louise's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I don't think you'll find many dogs that like the wet feeling on their tummies. You could get a piece of material to go over it that is somewhat waterproof? -
Here's some examples of Flea Dirt:

Hopefully a Dobe Breeder will come on because not long ago I came across an article about pattern baldness on certain breeds and from memory I'm sure Dobes were one of them! If you don't have any other skin issues could it just be a seasonal coat drop? This product might be suitable for you? http://www.petsonthepark.com.au/prod1120.htm

Itchy Dog Advice. I Need Some Help Please.
sas replied to Clyde's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
This subject is so full of contradiction. The 'Experts' commonnly disgree with each other. For example, some experts say there is no such thing as food allergy - it's food intolerance and it's the rearest form and others say it's the most common form. I think we have to be careful on threads like this because one persons experiences aren't neccessarily going to be what fixes another.
