I've found yelping has worked in previous companies. My opinion differs to others. I teach bote inhibition, so dogs may mouth but they may not bite. Dogs don't have hands, they explore with their mouths, especially puppies and this is what needs control.
-
I'd need to know more, why the dog did bite. I'd be seeking the immediate help of a behaviourist and go from there.

Everyone agreed for 10am?

I can't see an issue? Just wouldn't reccomend it for a dog that gulps down food etc.

Where do you go to only pay $40, I was quoted $600. Good God, where do you go!!!!!!!!!! I'm talking about an obedience club not a private trainer.
-
That's taking a punt through........the attitude in itself may be the reason they have trouble training the dog.

Why are you referring to your dogs as 'IT'????? Dog school doesn't cost very much at all......you should research prices..... So what is more expensive: getting your dog surgery when it gets hit by a car which could cost thousands of dollars or dog training for between $20-$40 per year? Your dog should never be off the lead if you haven't trained pooch come back. Side note: Dogs aren't hard to train, you need to learn how to train. Worst comes to the worst, research training on the internet until you find a method that you are happy to use and try it out......train in your backyard until it's pretty near prefect then you can go outside your yard with distractions in a safe environment (Not near roads or any other dangers!).

Oh I like this one.....where did you get it from? Europe?

He'll get there, he unfortunately didn't get the human socialisation at the right time when he was very young. Have no fear it will come right, just don't force it, let puppy approach and initiate contact. I have a 12 month old foster dog here that took 4 weeks to come out of his shell.

ummmmm I think the poster may like some options of what to give when the dog is inside....raw meaty bones probably aren't the best for the carpet. Have you tried Nylon bones and other attractive chew toys?

Need A Dry Food With No Chicken Or Pork

Pro Plan has always been a good one in my eyes and a range of different meats without by-products. -
Interesting....I have a Tatt and they say to keep it out of the sun as it will fade....so wouldn't you need to do this procedure a number of times in the dogs life span? How about getting pooch used to getting Zinc put on it's nose? Doesn't taste nice either.

What gave you the impression that if you train the 2 girls that they won't have issues when they have matured? Have you seen 2 bitches going for it? (Canine not Human)

Dog Training....which One In House Or In Home?
sas replied to auzloz's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I can speak from experience in regards to DOG TECH.....don't go there. A close friend of mine used BARK BUSTERS....don't go there. I have visited Hanrob a number of times participating in the small class sessions as I was originally going to use their in-house boarding and training whilst I was on holiday, I didn't end up using them (nothing to do with them) but from what I saw I would be completely happy to reccomend them. In regards to inhouse training....look, it's up to you and what your expectations are.....if you're prepared to keep the training going after picking up your dog then 'I' personaly don't see too much of an issue. I don't think anyone should expect to pick up a fully trained dog and expect it to stay that way without any input from the owner etc. It can be hard with 2 pooches.....if you can focus at backyard training one at a time or both at the same time, it's always a good start. I highly reccomend www.k9force.net located in Sydney. -
Ok, I'll be the first one to ask you to spell correctly and use sentence structure. Using poor spellling such as Skewl makes you look uneducated and more than a little bit silly. 1) Why did you get 2 puppies of the same sex? Did you consider what it would be like when they're mature or maturing? 2) All dogs need training 3) You choose a fairly high maintenece breed.....these guys need mental stimulation & training.....you'll soon find out what happens if you do not provide this. 4) My 2 sound and look like they're fighting when they're playing.....you may want to spend a bit more time with them in these situations so you can interpret for yourself whether it is play or something a bit more than that.

I have a K9 Force Armish leather lead....very strong....I worked with an aggressive lunging giant breed on it and no worries.

Interesting....my club does not encourage a head halter at all. Martingale's are always a safe bet.

Our Vet says we can give human pain relief to our foster, we did it for the first time this evening, just one tablet though.
-
I have a GSD x Kelpie foster....very GSD in appearance and I slicker him every day and get a lot of hair off him!
-
I'd really be contacting your vet or holistic animal practioner.....there has in the past been a DOL member whose dog died as a result of overdosing on suppliments....not to scare but just to be wary.

New Job And The Dog Is Not Happy...
sas replied to gemibabe's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I've just arrived back from Maylasia today and my partner has been home with the pooches.....I came home today to find that my little darling has pulled out the irriagation hose....I rent....I didn't even know there was an irrigation hose! Things do calm down over time with the adjustment period....little stresses set my foster off....he has good days and bad days....however I'm sure he had fun pulling out the hose!
