Are you Rural or suburbs,? What type of fencing do you have.? How much grooming are you able to do each week? Would you take the dog to groomers for clipping or learn to do it yourself ? Anyone in the house with dog Allergies.? What activities / or work do you want to do with the dog ? Have you owned or trained a dog before? Will the dog sleep indoors or outdoors in a kennel ? Do you have young children? What other pets or livestock do you have ? Do you want a protective dog; a watch dog;or is friendly to everyone who visits?

Yes try to settle them beside your bed at night.I would worry if a pup fell off the bed and you need to get your sleep.. Congratulations...look forward to updates as the pups grow..

She could go 4 or 5 days past her due date.If nothing changes in a couple of days take her to the vet to check all is well.

If you are concerned about the dog put in a report to the RSPCA they will knock on the door and check it out ;that is what they do.. it takes about 2 minutes to do an online report..

If you are fine with your sisters Labrador why not consider a Labrador for your family. Herding breeds can be nipping at the feet of young children particularly when pups.You would need to train them not to do it..

Yes. Or it may be a would be first time dog owner who wants to spend a lot of time with their dog that would be alone part of the day and was asking for advise. However they may look elsewhere for advise after being called names..... I had a neighbour with 2 Weimaraners in a tiny unit.He was very committed to his dogs and made it work.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The heart of a Vizsla could get broken at being left alone. I know of people in the eastern Suburbs Sydney who left their puppy alone 7 hours a day. Entire neighbourhood reproted its barking & howling. The damage to their yard was worthy of a battalion of engineers. I was thinking as a breed for taking on runs... Still waiting for a reply to my question about how long the dog would be left alone..? Perhaps a cat would be more suited to this situation ...

How many hours a week would the dog be home alone while you work or go out..? A Vizsla came to mind too.

Would a Border Terrier suit ?;i am not sure if they are yappy but have read they are fond of children. I have known two Westies ;one was a male who barked at anything or anyone around.The other a female was much quieter but then it can get down to individual dog and and how they are trained too. I think browsing Pet Rescue and reading the profiles can be a good way to decide what you want in a dog and what you don't and may well steer you to a particular Breed that has the temperament you are after.
