  1. Sorry to take this thread back on topic, but RSPCA VIC have said they apparently have no record of having this dog in their care, nor RSPCA NSW (someone asked, and posted their response on the original post of this image on the Justice4Max fb page). Take it as you wish, but I'd put that as another check in the "no this isn't legit" box.
  2. I add zucchini, carrot and a bit of apple to my raw mix. Pulverized through the juicer.
  3. Investigate your local vets, narrow down which ones you might choose (and which is closest, and which is 24hr for emergencies etc)
  4. Yep, a share of a share of a share doesn't make it true. Seems it originated And whilst they say they have the source, they decline to share it, which is just eye roll worthy.
  5. My recommendation to anyone who wants a career or business in dogs is to get some dog training study and experience under your belt. +10000000 Even a TAFE course in animal studies, volunteering with a local rescue, or asking some kennels if they need help? As an example, my dog walker has Diploma in Natural Animal Medicine, a Certificate 2 in Animal Care and a Certificate 3 in Animal Care. She worked for other dog walking businesses before starting her own, and in kennels and RSPCA whilst studying to gain experience. I don't know if that's a normal qualifications for a dog walker, but check out some websites and their profiles will normally tell you what they have. Current pet first aid was also something I looked for.
  6. Wouldn't be the first time.
  7. Tell me more. Do you use it straight? I assume you warm it up and pour it over? It depends on how I'm washing them. If they are in the bath then I just pour some in the bath and swish it around before I put them in and wash them with the bath water, and then just before they get out they get a half capful rubbed over them and then just towel dried off. If they are in the shower then it's a little less delicate and I try and pour capfuls on and give them scratches/rubs like with normal shampoo, then rinse it off. OH complains they smell like a salad for a while after, but I prefer to not get their hair or skin used to shampoo and then have it be required forever. My ACV lives in the cupboard so it's not cold to start with, it's room temperature anyway.
  8. And they are pretty colours, with small writing, so you have to get up close to see what they say, which kind of defeats the purpose
  9. She is just adorable we love her to bits Probably desex and ask to keep her a less price and get another for breeding I'm not sure I have contacted the person I bought her from says to X-ray then talk Are they a registered breeder? And are you a registered breeder?
  10. I don't use shampoo, my pugs get an apple cider vinegar rinse if they have been rolling in something stinky, or if someone has peed on them (which seems to be a common scenario lately, Max has a fascination with sticking her face in under other dogs when they pee  ).
  11. JozMan have you researched and spoken to people who use dog walkers and found out what they look for or what they want in a dog walker, instead of setting out about what YOU want? If you don't set out to meet a clients need, you're doomed from the start in regards to running a business. If you want to walk dogs for the RSPCA, that's awesome, but that's not a business. Sorry DD, I think I just said exactly what you said
  12. Can you link to the source with some information? A picture on FB doesn't scream legit to me.
  13. I doubt that would work, from the RSPCA'a point of view or the owners. I know I definitely would not want my dog walked with a random unknown dog, and the fact that you would even think it is a good idea would strike you off my potential dog walkers list.
  14. If it's a known disease in the breed that can be tested for, can you ask the breeder if it's something they test for? It's a common question so I can't imagine it would offend them. Discretion in the dog world isn't something I've really noticed though...
  15. Maybe the vet did try and help, but since she wasnt the one solely monitoring the dog it was probably too late. I can't imagine 1 person being enough for a procedure that involves GA, there is only so much one person can physically watch at the one time. The vet, being young and inexperienced probably didn't want to say anything about being left alone, whereas Maybe an older one would have said something (assuming there is a process in place). Oops, sorry Don, I meant to quote kirty. My reply still kind of makes sense lol
  16. Probably because they think it's yours and wonder why you're pooping in their bed
  17. I woke up last night to a pug diving into my crotch, I must have farted in my sleep because the pugs go hunting for farts. It was a most disturbing sensation to wake up too
  18. Max has started humping Boston to get my attention, because I tell her off when she does it
  19. I have one dog who only likes playing soccer with a tennis ball, and one who will bring a ball back only when she wants too (usually runs after it, and then either runs in a different direction, or just runs back to me without it). But it doesn't bother me - if they don't want to play with a ball, we find another toy. Some dogs just don't like playing fetch. Can you maybe find a game your dog does like playing? Often I'm playing tug in one hand with one dog, and playing a few games of fetch with the one who does occasionally play.
  20. If my guys started sleep-pooping I'd seriously be re-thinking the sleeping arrangments
  21. +1 I have a dog walker, and I wouldn't be to comfortable if she had her own dog along for the ride instead of having all her attention on my dogs. Especially if it was a puppy, as you're talking about getting a new dog so I'm assuming it would be a young dog. I'd get the business established first, then see how you go. Hopefully you'll have your hands full with other peoples dogs anyway.
  22. Just out of interest, since the vet quoted for a necropsy ... please tell me they didn't dare make the owners pay any bill for the surgery etc?
  23. This makes me cry. Sending a pup, of any age, in for surgery is scary enough without this happening. And the vet seems so blasé about it Not that it's the same, but maybe go through Buddy's thread, who died through groomers negligence and see if you can get any tips on what and who to persue. As this was negligence too, and they admitted it (were they are least apologetic, or upset??)
  24. Oh I like that "funny" idea. I was going to say go serious and show awesome dogs can be when you put effort into them, but LG's funny idea is much better, especially as it works on your dogs existing skills.
