That's what I find - they seem to "squash" the nail rather than cleanly cut it. I only used human ones a few times when I was desperate, but it didn't look like it did nice things to the nails. The dremel is my favourite, but unfortunatly I have one girl that needs a straight jacket just for her nails to be done, so the dremel takes too long :/

How Often Do We Do The 'annual' Vaccination?

And then you get the other end of the spectrum where people cry out that unless you rescue, you shouldn't breed. Seems one of those times you can't win!

Feeding Staffords Sardines
minimax replied to pickles_chester's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
What a nice birthday treat. My Lab loves prawn heads :) I'm vegetarian, so my OH peeled them and fed them one by one to the pugs  I wondered if they could eat any part of the shell or heads or bits that we normally chuck out, but decided against it as I wasn't sure. -
How To Teach A Puppy Not To Bark Inappropriately?

And for the rest of your life carry a water bottle around with you because you've not associated a word with the action, so you can't then remove the action and use only the word? -
Feeding Staffords Sardines
minimax replied to pickles_chester's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
One of my pugs had his first birthday yesterday, so he got prawns (his favourite food) as a treat. That was purely because he likes them, whereas sardines in oil have an actual benefit to his skin and coat, it's not just for fun. I doubt fish oil capsules are any more "species appropriate" than sardines  -

She means speak about your experiences for your dog specifically, don't go telling people what works best for their dog. -
That's an amazing head tilt, almost upside down! Anne, Monte is gorgeous. He looks like an adorable little man and I know some pugs up by the bridge who will love snuffling with him and will make him part of their pack

I'm sorry Anne, I hope you get some last cuddles with him

Did you try Rhuarcs in Newport? http://www.rhuarcspetsupplies.com.au If all websites are out of stock, I'd say it might be to do with the season, or lack of venison, or something like that. I normally get them from http://australianpettreatcompany.com.au/categories/Pet-Treats/Venison-Products/

Feeding Staffords Sardines

I don't feed out of necessity or simplicity - I feed it because my dog loves it and gets enjoyment out of it. -

I don't buy anything like that from china or asian countries, I buy the Brunswick sardines from Canada. -
How Often Do We Do The 'annual' Vaccination?
minimax replied to Jess the Lab's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
This was the main thing I checked before deciding on titre testing. I was worried that the insurance company would decide that a lack of vaccination would be the cause of every little illness and injury and decide not to pay out, but they said no, they only don't cover for things that can vaccinate against. However it did take them passing me around to a few different people until someone knew what I was talking about when I asked if they accepted titre testing instead of vaccinations and what their policy was in regards to titre testing. -
Unless there is some medical reason and I don't really know any (others might) you never take your dog's water away. My dogs sleep as long as I do. For instance, I slept until 11.30am this morning as I had an insomniac experience and didn't get to sleep until after 4am. Not a peep out of the dogs ---- 5 of them. Sounds like he wants to minimise the chances of having to get up and take his dog out for a wee in the middle of the night, but I'd never take the water away from my guys. If they need water, they need water! If they need to pee, they need to pee. Welcome to the life of dog ownership Yes, I understand that, minimax. But as you say: if a dog needs to drink, it needs to drink and water should be always available. How long does puppyhood in terms of having to take a dog out, last. Too bad - a puppy's needs have to be met. Yeh that's my point.

Haha I'm living vicariously too. I even put a few things in my cart before closing the window!

Feeding Staffords Sardines

Not stafford specific, but my pugs get sardines. And I know a lot of dogs that get sardines in oil as it's great for their skin and coat (and they LOVE coming and giving stinky sardine kisses afterwards too) -

Is weightpull scaled? ie: based on the dogs weight, or is it a blanket weight pulled across the board? So a 15kg dog pulls the same as a 50kg dog?

What a cutie. Sorry Sandra

Fish Heads: How To Make Them More Appealing
minimax replied to Chequeredblackdog's topic in General Dog Discussion
Why is that? The logic I've heard behind not feeding raw fish is the bacteria and parasites it can contain. However, I'm not sure if this is in the same context as not feeding raw chicken due to salmonella, or if it's actually true. Freezing fish kills anything lurking in it anyway, so if you're feeding fish that's been frozen it's safe. -
They don't go to 10 meters, they are much higher. Nor are they gathering evidence on specific people, they gather data for general use. And they get rid of identifying details, whereas these people are going to rely on identifying details. It's completely different to google maps.

Interested in this: Spokesman Mark Pearson says the practice will not contravene trespass or privacy laws. And they say the high court has dealt with the privacy issue. I'm not sure how it's NOT a privacy issue, unless they are notifying the people first when their places will be looked at. And who will be monitoring to ensure they are unable to see into peoples houses or private lives? If someone is enjoying themselves in the privacy of their yard and a drone flies over, how is that not an invasion of privacy? It sounds a bit over the top to me.

Fish Heads: How To Make Them More Appealing

lol I was going to suggest pretend to eat it yourself at the table. Always a surefire way to make them interested -
I don't use the fake grass on top, I merely have the plastic mesh stuff on top and tip the pee down the toilet. My guys only use it in an emergency, they go outside 99% of the time.
