  1. Thanks Westiemum :) And heres a couple of picture of my two crazy kids from this morning for ya :D Co-grooming?! ????
  2. Hey tibbie_tabbie, do you work for the refuge? I saw on their FB that they rehomed a corgi this week but I never saw her/him go on the website. Do you know the story with that one? We have fostered corgis for them before and asked to be notified if any come in needing foster and so I can spread the word among corgi people but they never do so I just stalk the website instead. Hi Mim, I just vollie there on weekends, walking the dogs and sometimes training new vollies. I didnt see or hear about a corgi, but it may have been a case of the dog only being there a few hours - we had a massive week and weekend with 34 (much needed!) adoptions! It may be worth emailing the foster coordinator, in case personnel have changed and messages not been passed on. So many dogs come in and out not all of them make it onto the website or facebook, especially the easier ones to rehome - no time to photo or write up before they are already home. I saw on fb there was a corgi meet up this weekend, did you know about it? ????
  3. $1500 is loads!! Seriously, that's really good :) Do you guys have online auctions? They are a great way to raise money. Ask local doggy businesses and supporters to donate goods or services (free advertising!).
  4. Oh crap (although good for Apache), sorry - he was still available when I saw him I'll let you know when we do have Huskys/mals in, as they do need to go to knowledge owners. Maybe Apaches new owner will join the club?
  5. Thank you! He is a gourgeous young pup named Apache. Not on the website yet, but if anyone is interested just get them to call the office on 08 9381 8166 for more info. The shelter is open every day 11-4 (apart from public holidays) :) The last couple of years we seem to have been getting quite a few husky/mals and crosses through the doors
  6. Haha! We are raw feeders as well, but Chewy goes 'off diet' for Fur Baby ???? Btw - we have a beautiful husky boy at Shenton Park at the moment.
  7. Aw, we are regulars there - the ladies are so nice :) And the food yummy! Hope it was a success for the huskies and that they all got something off the yummy doggy menu (Chewy recommends the doggy yoghurt ????)
  8. That is a great idea, if they do one in Perth I will see if I can bring Ronin along Of course! all dogs welcome, it just shows how many people support greyhounds. Hmmmm I'm going to put some serious thought into this and contact some media outlets, radio, papers, TV. Social media will be the one to spread the word I'm sure Every Greyhound on Facebook will promote it for me. I'm gunna need some help! You can count me in to help promote and I am pretty sure Tigger's mum would be interested Same here! A lot of people in the rescue groups I'm involved in would support. I'm sure the Italian Greyhound club would also love to show their big brothers support as well :)
  9. Have nothing to add (I have hairy dogs) but - omg he is so cute!! Also I know CC's dogs - they have beautiful skin so I'd take her advice haha!
  10. It seems quite a few iggie parents remember Ronin and say what a nice, gentle boy he is :) Yep, Chewbacca is well known at lure coursing as he is little, fluffy but flies after the lure like a fox haha!! He gets lots of shouts of greeting when we turn up, he prances proudly, nose in the air whilst I stumble along behind with his 'luggage' (water bowl, mat, crate, treats....). I feel like his PA lol!
  11. I can't post pictures on here at the moment, having tapatalk issues, but I've emailed them so will post as soon as it's working again :) Haha! I was like, 'I know that husky.....' ; p
  12. So I am on the Iggie club page (no I don't have an iggie, but yes I'm a member, they have been kind enough to 'adopt' Chewy as an 'iggie in fur coat' ; P)....and who did I spot photobombing the banner photo but Ronin!!
  13. When their tail wags in their sleep when you walk by them. When they are content and happy just being near you. When off lead in a park filled with trees and other dogs they enjoy strolling along next you best :)
  14. You didn't exactly discourage me from holding onto her :p I don't know what you mean.......Bhahaha!!
  15. Happy Birthday Pops! I knew from day one you weren't going to be a foster and that you'd found your forever home! Mwah! Xx
  16. I think it looks cool! Like he is about to go out climbing mountains or something :) You could get one of the bright rope leads they do to go with it - they have one in bright pink hee hee!
  17. Dr Gavin or Dr Nick at St Francis on Main Street are very good with my two, and encouraging with the raw feeding :) They won't over prescribe or recommend treatment not needed (the reason we left the last vets...!)
  18. Yep, we brought our girl home on a collar - walking on two back feet and eating the lead (she'd never had either on before)! When we went to get 'equipment' it was discussed whether a Hannibal lecter set-up (including trolley) maybe more appropriate haha! Luckily she improved in leaps and bounds and is now a happy, friendly dog (and even a foster 'mum'). I have a lifejacket by by ruff wear and love there stuff, so how about something like this? http://www.ruffwear.com/DoubleBack-Harness?sc=2&category=1131
  19. Crikey! Sounds like you need a jacket type one, with long sleeves and stuff - if anyone even makes those?! When my girl was reactive we had the lead linked to both harness and collar so we had a back up (not a bulldog but has a pin head lol)
  20. Where do I start?! A pride of tibbies, a Tibetan mastiff, can't imagine never having a staffy, cav or a shepherd of some sort again..... a leonberger, an old grumpy JRT... Just realised I've listed all my past and present dogs with my 'dream' dogs!
