  1. Haha! That's true, although aloof with strangers not with 'their' people :) Wilful however.....yup! Stubborn? Yup! But in a logical, sensible way - if that makes any sense?! For example, my German Shepherd would do something because I told him to.....tibbies need a good enough reason, each time! I do obedience, luring and agility with my boy but I have to make it awesome fun for him each second or he will put on the breaks and decide that's enough! I like that though, keeps me on my toes :)
  2. Have you looked at Tibetan Spaniels? They are watchdogs, but don't generally just bark for the sake of it (of course there will be exceptions). They are 'pack' dogs tho, and tend to need company, whether another animal or person :)
  3. Is there a group in WA that do it?
  4. What's their recall like? They should come to lure coursing with zoomies like that :)
  5. Trina - I think I know your friend....and may have met you... Are you a boxer breeder? Did you come to WA earlier this year for the Rugaas seminar? If not ignore me haha! Chewy loves racing with Poppy :) Much more fun with a friend!
  6. Aw, well done :) It's the best feeling ever when when you build that bond after working through problems!
  7. I've had that before. Buying lean cuts of premium meat the butcher started to tell me how best to sear it, I said 'oh no they have it raw.......' Funny look 'it's for the dogs' even funnier look haha! At least I then feel super healthy at the veggie shop buying big bags of carrots etc haha dogs love their veggies!
  8. Happy birthday Ronin!! Wow, a year already! Where did you get the croc meat from?!
  9. I thought of CrazyCresties. Her dogs are a delight going by the photos :) They really are, and surprisingly fast!
  10. CrazyCresties will be able to tell you more, but knowing her dogs yes they love to play chase, but they are also great with her cat. Her youngest comes to lure coursing :)
  11. I found out on the lure coursing page, have you tried coursing? Might be something new and fun to try :) Also some of the 'doggy' facebook groups will advertise these.
  12. Mouse wears her gopro at lure coursing as well, she is quite the videographer :) And the sweetest lady with the softest fur!
  13. What a great day! Dobiemum - yes that's us in the photos! Thank you for getting those :) And in the rain as well! Hortfurball - great to meet you as well, even tho we had to dash off to start the race! We managed to get all 15 points, as predicted Chewbacca was like a cat and loved all the climbing. He tried to get back on the swinging bridge haha! Although by the time you guys would have gone on it, it would have been very slippery. Also as predicted, I needed a hand getting over some of the obstacles, Dobiemums photos capture me getting stuck on the A frame haha!
  14. Yep, I don't tend to post as it can get a bit strange on there! When you said Dane and Bernese I remembered a group from there had been organised. We do lure coursing and a lot of people from there are also coming down :) Should be such a good day!
  15. Yep - much prefer cooler weather for it! Are you the facebook 'doggy playgroup' group then?
  16. Hahahahaha! I'm sure there will only be one group like us! So yep, come say hi dol'ers, we'll be easy to spot! :)
  17. And Chewy is the only tibbie there, so we are also easy to spot haha! We are doing it with a kelpie and a staffy (and their people of course ; p)
  18. Honeybun, although she isn't in a home it is wonderful to read your post. I also help out in rescue and always hear the 'too fussy' complaints but know that that's because the perfect home isn't there just yet. But when it does come around (and it does), it is just magic, for both the dog and new owner. Thank you so much for helping her out <3
