I do have to point out what a crap blanket statement this is. There is no 100% this will happen at all, a lot of off lead park bashing goes on in this forum but some of us go and have no problems, enjoy our walk and come home and think nothing of it. Gus was pretty much raised in our local off lead park and the only issue I recall us having was with a dog who broke off his leash at an on lead park and got a swift kick to the head from me. These are valuable community resources to some of us, please don't spread fear and false statistics. I just have to point out what a crap statement this is. Oh sorry was that rude? No way! They're amazing! We take our two and have got a lot from it! There's all types at ours too. I do recommend it!

Totally agree with you Kirislin :) I have 2 BC's. My male is just a wonderful, lay back, lovingly, healthy boy & I could easily manage 4 of him without a drama but my girl is Epilepsy effected as well as being very reactive & extremely noise phobic. I adore her but there is no way I could cope with 2 of her. Not a chance.... So it definitely depends on temp. of your pack & to I think it is very important that each dog that you own has quality attention & time spent with you each day. Apart from the basic's like exercise/food/vet care. Snap, didn't see Kirislin's reply. I definitely agree with all of the above. I could manage owning 10 Hanks. Even though he's big and hairy he is quite an easy dog. 10 Odies on the other hand? The thought alone nearly gives me a heart attack :laugh: Absolutely! 10 x gus would be a dream, 10 x Rosie and I might just end it all....haha.

100% better, so he thinks! He's spending his days asleep on the bed. Free pass for convalescence. So less running about, he's got the cone off once and its lasting super well! I took his ankle bandage off to redress and clean it and its a huge incision. Finger size and the bandages were taped to his fur so had to get that off. He was so tolerant though! Such a good boy. And no, nor really. Rosie is still pitching a fit but we just ignore that sucker. Trying not to make a thing of it. Good oppurtunity for some training during the day though with my captive audience!

Wow. That escalated quickly. Why would you be suggesting putting her down so quickly? A young small dog who doesn't like being left alone isn't an instant death sentence is it? Even thinking about rehoming (assuming the owners arent capable of anything further, which is still a big assumption) there are situations that may suit. My grandma lives in a block of units and where she couldn't take her dog, which was rare, next door would take him for the day and spoil him rotten. Or someone who can take him to work/daycare etc. Obviously yes a behaviourist needs to be consulted but why would you suggest talking to the owner about putting her to sleep already? Not sure why thats the first answer suggested to be honest. Understand in some cases its the kindest thing, but hard to assume this is definitely one.

Gus was pretty slow started to mark slightly before he started cocking, so would go pee over Rosie's pee and cocked about 2 weeks after? Always been irregular though. Still mostly squats. Never had any humping. The man barks came through gradually, we do still get mad puppy yaps though. Having said that, I've been catching Rosie cocking her leg this week. She's the man of the house now!
