It so is! Bit of a surprise, haha. We weren't thinking to adopt so soon but she's just perfect. -

We've taken the plunge and adopted the yin to Gus's yang. She's the same age as Gus (a supposed recipe for disaster but she's so perfect) and her name is Rosie. I'll put some photos up later for some Breed ID fun, so far we have definately whippet x, the rest is a mystery! Our house is all go at the moment, the two of them are either playing or napping together or doing zoomies. It's certainly a happy house! We're thrilled! -
We filled a plastic bottle with dry rice for extra noise value. Gus loves it, it's strictly an outdoor toy though. Haha.

That's a shame, it could have been a fabulous idea.

Gus was a genius and ate a bee last week, it was an impressive swelling and I worried it might have been a wasp and he'd swallowed it etc etc. We raced off to the vet to be safe and it didn't worry him one bit. We only saw it because he jumped on the bed with his teddy to play tug. He can be a bit of a loser. Vet said it's amazingly common and suggested some honey on it next time too. This was after a few hours, but you can see why it would be in an awkward spot. Haha.

Sounds like a nutter. I hope she has a vet who tells her so.

Vets All Natural - Perfect Puppy Nutrition

If we were to be so strict I suppose we should not have the clean run free shipping post, or any harness advice posts etc. Sure the companies aren't posting but it's still of a commercial nature? -

I would love if more feed manufacturers had such an open forum for comments, advice and criticism. -

Thank god for that! Ambiguous sample wording had me worried, perhaps rather than saying 'one meal for a large puppy' it might be easier to say 'one day of food' or something. I was confused, I revoke my stupid question now :D -

I had a question about the feed guide on the VAN website if anyone could point me in the right direction. For a 22kg dog it's suggested 250g of VAN, 250 of water and 750g of meat. I assume this is throughout the day, not per meal? Silly question I know, just the directions on the sample pack we received had similar quantities and stated that would be one meal for a large puppy. That is a sizeble meal! We thought we'd give it a try but I can't find an answer and 750g of meat, 3x a day is just toooo much so surely not! -
I've read things that state tumorous material from chickens and other animals can be used. That alone scares me right off it. It's not the fact it might be prepared in ares of less than stellar cleanliness that irks me, it really is any bit of material they can get their hands on. Yucko!

Menacing the criminal with what I would consider a damn good reason, like everyone has said you get warned, then YOU make the decision not to come forward and the consequences are your own.

My boyfriend's mum is down that weekend, so I will assess. Might have to wait til Nov in that case!

If anyone stole Gus they would bring him back darn fast ahaha. He's being a PITA teenager this week.

Dory has the skills! Gus just sticks his head in things, there's no refinement or care there... -
Hahahahaha lucky us!
-
I think she's fabulous!

I have to admit Master Gus does as he pleases. He has indoor and outdoor (grassed and decking) access and free ranges happily. So far so good (for a 5mo old puppy)! The naughtiest thing he does is sleep on the spare couch and perhaps bring the odd bone in to eat on the rug. Usually we come home to find him bleary eyed from a hard day of napping.

Have you ever tried to fight off a police dog? I haven't but I sure wouldn't be game to try it. I think the dog would come off best in a fight with most people, they're faster, stronger, toothier and in most cases I would bet smarter. (Definitely smarter than this guy who thought punching it in the face would make all his problems go away?)

I think the judgement comes from repeated experiences dating back 12 yrs (from what I have found just in my curiosity search) I hate breeder bashing especially when it isn't justified. So I try to find out as much as I can before making an opinion. The exact same story repeated in many ways, No visual of litter or mother due to 'quarantine'. Verbal statements of testing, Most said they have seen the father through a fence some said he seemed very excited' that there is at least 10 dogs in view but unknown what is in the back. On these issues Alone, quarantine is important yes but there are plenty of ways to go about that. Mother and litter in the visual pen without approach, disinfectant and those funny shower caps that go over your shoes. Why can the sire be approached, goldens and I assume flats are suppose to have the most friendly nature there should be no reason not to actually meet the dog. But with this all causing 'alarm bells' they still buy the pup. There are so many people who claim to personally own a dancing gate dog and claim HD think i saw the earliest case was 6 mths most (all that I have read state HD before age 2) A lot of these claims state the joint didn't form properly and not a dislocation. I know this can still be environmental but that is impossible with the amount of claims. Other claims are ED, eye problems, sibling matings. I heard a horror story of said breeder using a dog boarded with her to stud, again, can't vouch for the truth in it all but perhaps the no smoke without fire applies. I can't remember which user on here knew a person with an FCR from them and mentioned the dog looked nothing at all like an FCR. I've also seen photos of litters with white blazes on black/liver dogs. That ain't something you see every day...

And that is entirely their job to subdue idiots. Entirely the fault of the 'victim'. If you don't want your little winkie bitten by a police dog, perhaps best to not break the law, and give up when forewarned the dogs are being released.
-
Sadly you can be both!
-
Yeah, I believe they are most unpopular and for a very good reason.

He is quite lovely, started to slow down a lot gaining weight, but is growing taller, so perhaps it's just a big spurt. Can't hurt to up the food a little anyway. Perhaps ants are like doggy pop rocks? At least bees only have one sting in them, here's hoping they both learn a swift and drama free lesson ;)
