Appointments Or Walk-in At Vets...
Teebs replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have been at my vet for 9 years, i know i can ring up first thing tomorrow and get an appointment, they know me and will fit me, or anyone else that urgently needed to see them, in. I know that if there was a problem, i could ring their a/h number and be met at the vet in 5 mins, or they can come over here. I have dog aggressive dogs, the thought of sitting in a waiting room for god only knows how many hours makes me sick, so many dickheads who think it is ok to let their dogs play with others... at the vets at all places! even the most laid back dog can act different at the vet, or be sick and not feeling well.. My vet is a small place and I know that 99% of the time when I go in, the only other animals i will run into is the dog leaving before it is my turn to be seen, and the dog arriving as i leave. I would never to to a vet that didnt require an appointment. I also like knowing what vet I am going to, i have nothing against any of them, but out of each of the 3, one is better at somethings than others, and Atlas loves LOVES LOVES one vet over most, but will only let the female cut his nails :D so i like to mix and match! -
Umm.. Why did you wait till now? The first time my dog yelped they would have been at the vet, why leave it till you were working and couldnt take her? It is now the 21st of Dec. That is at least 20 other days you could have taken her to see someone...

Vet had a look and can not see anything, said there is alittle fluid on the ear drum, but it is clearing up. They have told them to stop using drops and get some ear cleaner. My vet friend is getting me the ear cleaner for cost price, so will go pick it up next week and see how she goes with that

Actually, if you don't train bite inhibition and deter mouthing, they won't. Some dog owners learn that lesson the hard way. They sure do learn the hard way! Kaos loves to play and will 'bite' but once she actually has your hand in her mouth, she gives you this look that says "WTF? now what do i do with it? " and lets go I have had people amazed when she does it to them and have them tell me their dog would never let go if it did get your hand! :p I am the first to admit kaos needs A LOT of traing, but she has never had the chance to bite or nip a person!.

I am not sure exactly, she was desexed last week and they checked her ears out and said they were blocked and cleaned them out. She didnt have any problems before going to the vet..... I am going with dad tomorrow to find out exactly what is going on, so will update then, just thought we may be able to help her by using something else

Hi all  I posted in OT but it was suggested i post in here as well, so here I am Last year a dear doler made this for me: I used it (without the writing) for my Christmas cards. I have just used the last of the cards and want to order some more tonight/tomorrow and was wondering if anyone is up for helping me out? All I want is all my animals in the photo, and it made Christmassy, I would love Santa in it, but as long as it looks nice, i dont mind at all what is in it - I am happy to post some photos, otherwise they are all in my Photo Bucket account under the user name of Terrorbull (I have 5 pets, all in my sig) I will love you forever if you can help me out! Thanks! Cin.

How Does Your Dog Singal He Needs To Go Out For A Wee?
Teebs replied to Snowball's topic in Puppy Chat
my guys both cry when they want out. As puppies i taught them if they cried, they would get taken outside, EVERY time, now they will just come up to me if i am in bed and cry, or stand at the door and cry so I know they need to go out. -
water pistol

you guys are so lucky we are facing level 6 restrictions, my 7 year old niece has never played under the sprinkler, let alone my dogs!

I did playing dead, and fetching on command (Kaos at the time could only sit, knew nothing else, so was learning from scratch) Honestly, think hard about doing it, the office people are very slack, i know people who have passed almost 12 months ago and still dont have their certs, and others who finished their last assessment in March and have not yet heard if they have passed or not

Meh, i didnt find it too hard, I taught the complex skills in a few days, and only watched a bit of the DVDs, the worst was doing the block training. I did most of the assessments during TV ad breaks

Does Anyone Separate Their Dogs When They Go Out?
Teebs replied to geo's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I dont have the set up here, I did try it once, but Kaos went nuts because she couldnt see Atlas, If i had the right set up and runs where they can see each other, i would do it -

When the vet removed Ats, he just got thin plier thingys (im guessing nail sissors would work?) he just list them up under the staple, and pulled it out.

wow, tell you what, i have been bailed up by 5 Labs, I had to climb a fence to get away from 2 that had me in a corner. Guess how many pittys/bull breeds have had a go at me? Ummm. NONE I have also found Labs and many other breeds tend to be more dog aggressive then most of the bull breeds. (I have worked around dogs every day for the last 6 years) My Staffy is dog aggressive, I can still get her to walk on a loose lead when we walk past other dogs, she does keep her eye on the other dog, but she knows she cant pull on the lead or she will get corrected.

What size do you use? Was thinking of ordering a medium Pele is shedding like crazy and I use a Zoom Groom on her, but if a Furminator works better then I'm sold I use the cat one The next size up was too big for the cats, so got the one that did them, and use it on the dog!
