I agree with you .... I don't like the idea of dogs using communal water bowls or going into shops, I'm always conscious of cross contamination.

Golden Retrievers would make a good service dog ... Not sure about being in your lap though lol.

My CKCS has had both of hers done ... One was a grade 4 almost a 5 and the other one was a 3.the reason why I had them done is because she was young, 3 when the first was done and 4 with the other one. Apart from catching an infection post surgery she came out of it fine... She had to be kept quiet for the first 6 weeks and very light exercise for the first 3 months. Sometimes she gets a bit of pain but I just give her Carprofen and she is as good as gold.

My Kelpie does it when she gets excited and ends up trying to catch the brown hairy snake (her tail) but she has emptied her glands on my bed (thank god for dog blankets) so an anal issue is possible as others have said.

I bath my dogs maybe every 3 months, sometimes longer if they don't have a doggy smell.....Maybe every 6 weeks is too often?

I had a ham and cheese omelette for dinner and guess who wanted to help me eat it ????????

Fwiw I brush my two dogs teeth EVERYDAY and my 10 year old Kelpie still needed some teeth out recently. I hardly ever give them ice cream ... maybe once or twice as a treat and only about a teaspoonful. Maybe we should all report ourselves... Gosh we are bad owners ????

Sasha my Kelpie is quite vocal.. But she will stop when I give her a quick sssh noise, that's her cue to stop. She has this annoying habit when I'm about to sneeze she will bark and bark again when I sneeze, with a concerned look on her face.. She doesn't do it to anyone else. Lacey only barks if someone is walking past with their dog.. But is quickly sushed. They don't bark incessantly though, that would drive me nuts.

We take our dogs for a walk around suburban streets.. There is a house on our route that has 6 foot colourbond fencing, the dog that lives there we have never seen but every single time the dog hears us coming he rushes at the fence all aggressive.. Sometimes it's not about how a certain dog looks, sometimes like humans they may like one person but have hatred for another.

Update.... Sasha still has it really bad.. She isn't sick and still hungry. Yesterday I contacted Petcircle and I had to email the batch no/barcode/ex date so I did that and today they rang me to say that it's going to cost me $20 which is fine.. They are sending a courier on Monday to pick it up. Have had a hell of a week with lack of sleep, copious amounts of washing towels etc will be glad when things improve. I was giving them Coastal Catch which they loved.. This was the second bag and for some reason it's upset them. I

I have a pet account... I put a certain amount in at the end of my pay cycle. I have delfinitely needed it this week, with a vet visit for a grass seed and 2 dogs with a severe food allergy :/

That was short lived... Got a new bag on Friday and on Sunday one dog got diarrhoea and now my other dog has it, but it didn't dawn on me until I did a search for this thread that I put two and two together. Took Lacey to the vet.. He ruled out anything infectious, she had no temp. So the bag will get chucked out.

I use Petosan... It's poultry flavour and the dogs live it ????

It's never easy losing a much loved pet.. But take comfort in knowing that she loved you right to the end, she is in no pain now... Take care of yourself

A Kelpie ???? they have a easy care coat, they are very smart so are easy to train, they are very friendly and sociable. They are very energetic but if it goes on two 1 hour walks a day it should be ok ???? Sasha is about 16 kilos and is quite lean.

My CKCS has had two LP surgeries and now I have her on Sasha Blend Flexi bites.. They are easier for her because she thinks it's her own special treat :laugh: she gets 4 bites a day as per her weight. I was going to get her powder but she is a smart cookie and knows what I put in her food... So she wouldn't eat it. The cheapest I have found is on EBay for $37 and they last 6 weeks :)

Mine have never escaped .. I have 6 foot fences and the only exit is through my roller door which I keep closed, my car is always parked on the driveway.
