  1. Yep. I was quite intimidated about calling to enquire about puppies. I did everything I could online but after months of dead end ads and websites I bit the bullet and called the breed club in my state and got the ball rolling that way. Wish I'd done it earlier in the process, but at the same time, if I had I wouldn't have the dog I do now. She was born AFTER I called the breed club.
  2. Good to know! This is our first harness :)
  3. Do you mean you have a hot tap on the wall, but not a hot hose on the washing machine? You would need some kind of plumbing/hose stopper because from what I understand the lever only controls the hose headed towards the dogs, and the washing machine is unaffected.
  4. I think medium was the right size for us, it needs some more adjusting as it's witching hour and someone is being a wiggly worm! I'm quite happy with it though. The front clip is quite sturdy, even if it's not metal. I don't think it would be great for a dedicated puller, as there is some movement to the side....this may correct itself with further adjusting though.
  5. Mine has arrived! I will update more when I get home and fit it to her, but for reference my girl is 77cm and was a large in the Thundershirt but a medium in this sizing... We'll see in a couple of hours if that's right, haha
  6. I noticed K9 Pro have them, but not in red....think I might order mine from them...always get good service & like to support a DOL'er :) They have them in a dark pink. I planned on getting it from k9pro too, but they didn't have the colour and size I need... And I'm too impatient for a back order, haha. The pink is gorgeous! I'm going for orange :) Which size were you after? I just had a shipment arrive this afternoon and you will be able to use the DOL discount too (if you haven't already ordered). Oh that's a shame, impatient me has already ordered it. I was going for a medium in the orange. Thanks for checking in though! :)

  8. Hold still I can nearly read your makers mark! Hahaha
  9. I don't think you're mean. It sounds like they are picking it up quickly... If they had it on every day for weeks on end and were still barking just the same, I'd say it was time for a rethink. I'm not in off topic, so don't know the nature of the complaint, but if it were me I'd rather use the aversive option than have poison or something thrown over my fence.
  10. Hahaha - it must be a tassie thing! Luna is the one that we're keeping :) She's a beauty! Hopefully she brings you as much joy as our Luna... Ours has an overly healthy dose of spunk, so hopefully that's not carried with the name, lol
  11. I tried one of those. Not only did it not stop the barking, but it was also set off by the garbage truck
  12. I have a Luna :) apparently it's been a popular name here in northern tas this year!
  13. I grew up on a farm and the very well fenced house yard certainly saved a lot of headaches, so I second this idea.
  14. Order has been placed with express shipping... I should have it before the weekend and will update then!
  15. Thanks for the information, experiences, and link to the review... I think I'm going to get one and see how it goes!
  16. Days like this I don't miss living in QLD at all! I used to resort to having a 10 second shower fully clothed. I also love misting a spray bottle towards the fan. Hope the storm cools you all down!
  17. My suggestion would be the same as Sheena's really. Use a light lead, and scrap the idea of going out for walks until happy walking around the house or yard. Does he like toys? Rewarding with a play session with a favourite toy instead of food can also work. Good luck!
  18. I'll start off with apologising for opening a new thread, I've read through the existing harness threads and haven't seen any mention of the Ruffwear Front Range - I think it was only released this year. I'm looking for a front attach harness for training situations, but I would also like to use the same harness for car travel. I've looked at the freedom harness as well, but didn't think the martingale style for the back attachment would be comfortable for in the car. So - do you have one? Do you like it? Or have you seen one around and have an opinion?
  19. There's an off leash white fluffy that charges around our neighbourhood and then sticks it's face through our gate and snaps at my dog. It's owner is elderly and carries a stick (not sure if for his own dog, or others?). Now my dog barks at any dog that sniffs at the gate There's also a park at the end of my street (on leash) and people just take their dogs there and use chuck it launchers or tennis rackets to hit balls across the park to exercise their dogs... We used to walk through there as it back onto a nice reserve, but we avoid it now the weather is nice because chances are we'll round a former or Crest a hill and come face to face with an off leash dog. It ticks me off that people are so inconsiderate, and don't think of what might go wrong.
  20. Everything I have read says prior to 5 months presents a high risk to normal growth, after 5 months still a risk but lessened, and least risk once at maturity. I would be very hesitant to purchase a pup desexed at that age... what breed is it?
  21. I'm so sorry for your loss, I was watching this thread hoping for a better outcome for you. RIP Lucy, and Pheebs please take care of you - you've done a wonderful job putting your girls needs first.
  22. Haha, that's a relief! It would be my luck to get that type of thing wrong :)
  23. Excuse my ignorance, but when you say out of date do you just mean the details weren't up to date? Or do you need to renew/refresh your details periodically, even if they haven't changed? Just want to make sure I'm on top of what I need to be!
  24. Sorry I don't get this about threatening to kick other dogs. How would you feel if someone kicked, or threatened to kick, your dog? Surely there are more appropriate responses. I think it's that the polite request was completely disregarded. Stressmagnet may not have planned to carry through on the threat, but sometimes you have to be rude for people to take you seriously. If Ernie had gotten riled up and bitten the other dog, he would probably be the one in trouble...
