    Tyson

Run free Tyson. How awful it had to come to this.
  2. Make sure it is written into your lease you are allowed to have a dog. Personally, I would wait 6 months, but that is me.
  3. Oops, and where are the pictures of these two?
  4. Yep, feed them separately from now on, with no access to one another. The younger dog sounds like he is trying to take over from her as alpha dog. You can't pick (as Poodlefan pointed out) who is top dog. Don't let the kids throw treats. Ever. Ruff will need ongoing training by you, so you (and the children) stay top dog. Similar thing happened with my two (in my sig). The older smaller male was always top dog. Then my Staffy female started challenging him. I changed the way I did things then, because of a few fights they had over food (she wasn't too shy to take chunks out of him either).
  5. Sorry to hear about Monty Persephone, may he run freely and chase butterflies at the bridge.
  6. Yes, the member on here is SharPeiRescue. There is a link to send them a message below if you need to, they have a lot of experience with rescue dogs requiring the eye operations that you mentioned. (Being a rescuer of Shar Pei). http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showuser=5038
  7. Will invest in one ASAP... I have just got back from the vet - anti-hystermine type things to take.... They've said if it doesnt get better, she will prescribe anti-biotics, then maybe a biopsy!!! He also has curled eye lids that she checked on while he was there - he needs an $800 operation to correct them to stop him from becoming blind as because he is 1 next month, they will not get better from here... it never seems to end does it. Did the vet say what the cause could be? Was it allergic reaction? With regards to the eyelids, you might want to let your breeder know. Haven't heard of it in Maltese before, I know it is common in Shar Pei breeds, can you remember if it was Entropian the vet mentioned? You might want to get a second opinion on the surgery, or PM Peibe on here, (actually I think she is now SharPei Rescue).
  8. I would take him to the vets, it is probably annoying him. The vet can diagnose it properly. Most likely an allergic reaction to something (new carpet, grass or plant in the yard). White dogs seem to be more prone to allergies. Have you changed his food recently?
  9. Rocco is the most photogenic dog I know. All those fantastic facial expressions.
  10. Wowsa is totally gorgeous!! Great idea to document him growing up.
  11. So sorry to hear about Ruby LC. Run free Ruby.
  12. Beautiful pics Rocco, love the last one in particular. That lens is next on my wish list.
  13. I agree, find a vet who will do the skin scraping. What a shame the 'breeder' had bad living conditions (you won't be the only one who has still gone and bought a pup from a place that resembled a pigsty, but we all live and learn). I would be definitely checking the dogs registration papers though, just to be sure. Do you know if he was wormed, flea treated etc? (by the breeder I mean) If he had a poor start to life, you want to make sure he gets good nutrition and also get him onto a routine worming schedule, flea & tick prevention.
  14. Why not ring her and discuss it instead of e-mailing her. Were the kennels of the breeder (or wherever she bred them) nice and clean? Did you research the breeder? Just seems a strange response from someone who just sold you a pup.
  15. Im sorry to hear about your beautiful Golden boy, he was only a youngster too. Run free Rex. Hugs to you and the family.
  16. Ebay has them from around $170 (second hand, hardly used) up to $240 for a new one.
  17. well, the lady i got Charlie from said that he has been flea and worm treated.. and i only got Charlie last week. but, i'm not so sure because when I bought Charlie home.. he had fleas... i had to give him a flea treated bath on his first day home! so, i'm not quite sure about the worm now.. that's why i'm going to take him to the vet tomorrow to check. Ah, okay then. If he hadn't been flea treated, more than likely not wormed (or maybe not properly) either. The vet can advise about routine treatment as well as heartworm, tick prevention etc (if you are in a tick prone area)
  18. Has he been wormed? (in case you missed it the first time)
  19. Probably a silly question, but has he been wormed?
  20. I bet it's a relief to see him off chasing a bunny.
  21. Poor Hamlet, sounds like he has eaten something that didn't agree with his belly. How is he doing this morning Persephone? Hoping for good news, dogs have the ability to give us (more) grey hairs, don't they.
  22. Dogmad, would that be the one thats around $85 for 18 kilo bag? How did you find it went value wise?
  23. Carlibud, Im sorry for your loss. What a gorgeous tribute to Buddy, it made me smile, and cry. He was obviously a much loved (and cheeky) member of your family. Run free Buddy.
  24. Try filling a kong with some treats that she likes. That way she is rewarded when you go out of the gate. Once she knows "Sit" and "Drop", it will be easier, but still reward her with a big juicy marrowbone or similar. You need to get on top of her issues now though, she is a big dog, and still a puppy. Big boisterous pups (with seemingly no brain at times ) and little children are a recipe for many tears.
