  1. Tusker said lab x kelpie in the first post :) Although with the dark muzzle I recken there's something else in the mix, clearly something cute :D
  2. I have a knock off version of the Ezydog convert and they fit my dogs really comfortably. Only problem I have is that because Josie is short and broad they do restrict her front leg extension a little but as she generally doesn't bother with more than an amble and we mostly use them in a car it hasn't been a big drama.
  3. If it makes you feel any better there are plenty of people who freak out over any dog, even small or very docile looking ones. I walked my (very chilled pet therapy) basset hound around a corner last week and a small child screamed and her mother(?) dragged her away like my dog was about to eat her. It was pretty clear where the child got her fear from sadly. My dog stood still and sniffed something near my foot, didn't even look at the family. It probably was nothing to do with your dog being a boxer and just a factor of your dog being a dog. My boss brings her boxer to work every day and we always get lots of oos and aahs and lovely feedback about her so if your heart is with boxers then I wouldn't strike them off the list yet.
  4. Yes, exactly what Rebanne said. Just make sure she has options to get warm if she wants
  5. Many people here have dogs who live outside most/all of the time but I do agree with the sentiment that it is too cold for a lone pup to be outside right now. We always started our pups in the laundry/spare bathroom and transferred them to sleeping outside in spring-summer when the nights are mild and they were happy to spend more time out there.
  6. Surely with post it would be cheaper to buy it here somewhere? We sell it at my work so it's easily available
  7. I may need the doubleback for the specific purpose. (rescue work so may have to do lifts up verticals, etc)
  8. Thanks Silentchild, I'm so proud of her. She loves making people laugh but always seems to know when to be still too. The first two pics are taken at a local cafe where we while away 5 hours or so with a group of mums and small children every Thursday morning. :) We call the last one mum vs. wild. When in need survive by using a dog for a pillow and creating a warm blanket of small children(just for the record it's not me in the pic ;) )
  9. Looks like the prefix was Jager and they also bred Pumi but don't seem to be doing either any more??
  10. There must have been one/some here at some point, there's a pic here taken at the 1999 Sydney Royal http://www.dogs4sale.com.au/Breeds/Hungarian_Kuvasz/Breed_Fact_Sheet.htm
  11. Josie's a pro at heartwarming moments. I caught this one on film a few weeks back when a friends daughter was a little sad and Josie thought she needed a hug. Twodoggies your story also reminded me that Josie does the same thing, we were at the beach the other day(leash free beach so she was just pottering around) and we all walked up to the car, she stopped halfway and wouldn't even come with me calling her until our middle child came up off the beach. She's such a nanny dog, takes her child minding responsibilities very seriously!
  12. I may even consider the doubleback eventually as we may need the lifting ability down the track.
  13. Nowhere I can try one on but I've sent ruff wear a message directly to see if they can advise.
  14. Quick question for anyone that uses a webmaster for their dog. I have looked at the sizing and josie is 66cm just behind the front legs and 68cm slightly further back. She's a big dog being a basset hound, around 24.5kg, long low and solid but going by this she'd be in a small size harness and that doesn't seem right to me? Can anyone advise me?
  15. I think it really depends on lines. I have a working bred kelpie but I picked a very cruisy relaxed pup from the litter and she's been a great housepet. I think you'd want to be very careful though if you don't have a fairly good eye for picking temperaments in pups.
  16. It says he came from a wildlife park originally. problem is dingoes form a strong pack dynamic, you can't just throw another one in with an existing group.
  17. At least he has some good info in the add that should deter anyone who doesn't get how hard they are to keep well. Hopefully he'll find a good forever home
  18. I think a lot of breeds have the potential to be great matches for you. Whereabouts are you? Members here could probably suggest some good trials or shows coming up where you could get some ideas.
  19. She seems healthy otherwise just a bit of a sadsack. She's spent the evening laying next to us and then following us around the house like a little lost soul anytime we move. Normally she'd be prancing around and trying to get Sascha to play with her.
  20. I watched her do it and I've given plenty of vaccs myself plus Josie has lots of loose skin so i'm pretty confident the vacc was done correctly.
  21. Thankyou. She's not an enormous girl and nice and lean and fit so I'll go the 34 then, doesn't matter if it's a tad short. :)
  22. Mmmm... She's never had a C5 before but had to this time for her therapy accreditation so maybe it's the bordatella/kennel cough component that hasn't quite agreed with her. Poor girl looks pretty miserable. Think I'll just keep them separate for 24 hours, don't want a big barny on my hands!
  23. Josie had a C5 vacc yesterday afternoon and today she is in a very strange mood, baring her teeth and making low growling sounds at our other dog and snapping at her if she comes close. Is this normal after a vacc? I don't remember her ever doing this before but her last vacc was a C3 about 3 years ago. I can only guess she might be feeling achy? For now I've fed them and put them to bed in separate areas just to avoid any conflicts.
  24. Just a very quick request. I want to buy a dog coat as a pressie for a friends jack, these are the sizing options: XS Back Length: 19cm/ 7.48''; Chest Girth: 30cm/ 11.81''; Neck Girth: 19cm/7.48'' S Back Length: 24cm/ 9.44''; Chest Girth: 38cm/ 14.96''; Neck Girth: 23cm/ 9.05'' M Back Length: 28cm/ 11.02''; Chest Girth: 45cm/17.71'' ; Neck Girth: 28cm / 11.02'' L Back Length: 34cm/13.38''; Chest Girth: 52cm/ 20.47''; Neck Girth: 33cm/ 12.99'' XL Back Length: 40cm/15.74''; Chest Girth: 58cm/ 22.83''; Neck Girth: 38cm/ 14.96''
