  1. I fed Darcy on EP holistic duck and oatmeal. It was a good food but darcy is a fusspot.
  2. Same company whether they are franchised or not. Won't be changing my mind on the matter. It would be hard to order it from America as you would need to organise an import permit with AQIS. Plus I think PP has a monopoly on it in Australia, so even if we wanted to import it, we couldn't.
  3. Every dog will react differently to different foods. My dogs faecal matter has not changed since being on orijen. My guess would be that it just doesn't agree with Henschke.
  4. Yes that is correct. Its could be a great product, but I still won't be buying it.
  5. Thats a good idea BigBen - also would like to know what cereals they have as well. For example wheat and corn would be classed as bad fillers whereas brown rice and barley would be better fillers (if such a thing really...) - if you get what I mean?
  6. You do realise why organisations just can't hand over that sort of information. Its a huge breach of privacy to the importers!
  7. I've been feeding orijen for 6mths now. Cats have a completely different make up to dogs which would be why the food affects them and not dogs.
  8. I just wish they would say what cereal grains they contain.
  9. RC has grain and preservatives so not an option for Darcy
  10. Jules I meant I would continue to feed until I run out.
  11. I will continue to feed orijen.
  12. Judith will send you a sample pack if you like or it comes in a 1.8kg bag! Oh thanks FTPO.
  13. Artemis has a grain free type. Ziwipeak is also grain free AFAIK. huski - RC isn't an option for me, too many preservatives for Darcy.
  14. Darcy has done so well on orijen - the only food he doesn't screw his nose up at. Am so disappointed that I will have to find another dry food that his lordship approves of.
  15. Yeah I know I don't know what to try next - don't really like feeding grains and Darcy can't have preservatives, colours, artificial flavours etc. Looking into artemis...but I know his lordship will turn his nose up at that.
  16. I will look at getting a trial pack of Artemis to see if his lordship approves.
  17. Top's hasn't developed to a lick granuloma yet - just staining of the fur on his leg. I just honestly don't have the money at the moment to get into see Kersti as Darcy's stint with the tick has really set me back.
  18. My dog had a problem where he would only eat out of a specific bowl. I eventually got a new bowl for him and hes happy as larry now with his special yellow bowl. I spoke at length to a behaviourist about eating disorders in dogs - his basic philosophy was to give the meal for 15mins and then if they don't eat take it away. Have you tried feeding her from the ground? Moistening with gravy? Dogs do pick up on stress so try to make meal times really happy times.
  19. Anthony - AQIS do not set the standards. Biosecurity Australia do - they do all the risk analysis of products and tells AQIS how to treat and product specifications.
  20. What country is Artemis from? From reading the import conditions I can gather that those pet foods from AQIS approved premises in NZ and USA do not have to undergo gamma irradiation.
  21. You could try ebay for a lens
  22. I would go see a natural vet or maybe a behaviourist. There could be nerve damage around that area that could benefit from massage and accupuncture. Or maybe there is something pyschological going on in his head. My BC licks one leg all the time - in the new year I will be heading to the natural vet to see what ideas they have. If nothing I will take him to SABS.
