  1. Every little boy needs a Stafford Great dogs for kids.
  2. What are people paying experienced groomers these days I wonder?
  3. Mike, I'm sure you're on to it but please be careful with those two dogs around your gorgeous boy. If they start a fight and your son tries to break it up it could be accidentally disastrous. I just love Astro - all his body language is so appropriate - he loves his little cooling off bucket too
  4. I would put to sleep before I rehomed an dog aggressive bull breed. Good luck sorting it out, Atlas sounds gorgeous!
  5. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_5839043082 http://australianpetgroomer.forumotion.net/ and PIAA website. Very hard to find good experienced groomers who aren't already working for themselves. Good luck
  6. They don't always need antibiotics but if he's coughing so badly he's throwing up i'd recommend it. He will get relief quicker. AB's only help if a secondary infection develops. they won't do a thing for general KC.
  7. Try NRMA. I can't remember what I pay but I think I'm with them and I usually shop around - or am I with QBE Sorry, I'm no help with responsible stuff.
  8. Norman :D Although I think Bruno suits him!
  9. He hasn't finished growing yet nor is he a bulky or heavy breed.
  10. I'm really sorry for your loss, a lovely tribute to your dear Sassie. :hugs:
  11. He'll be lead trained but probably won't know SIT, and might not know DROP. The dogs might not be indoor dogs so you will need to house train him - I'd look in to that. I remember bringing an adult Saint home and the size of the wee on my floors With one of my Saints I went to obedience, just to bond with her and teach her SIT, I was pregnant at the time like you. I can remember people worrying I had such a big dog and a baby on the way but they needn't have worried - never a more gentle dogs with babies. I find it odd that she's charging you the 2K you paid for a pup. He will cost a fair bit to desex too, being so big. But, if you know her dogs and trust the temperament then I would do it - can't really put a price on safety with your baby. I would definitely ask if you could trial him for a month first though. Or something along those lines anyway.
  12. You have to show us pics as we need proof Especially for you Clyde ;) OMG, I can barely breathe - I seriously did such a sharp intake of breath and they are so delicious. I will take the one on the far right please, failing that the second from the left please. Or both How did you manage to get an entire litter so gorgeous? Is it the Black Hawk? :D
  13. TBH I think $2k is a lot for an adult Newfie but I guess it's just how much he is worth to you after meeting him. I wouldn't hold too much to the point that he's been titled.
  14. Pick me Pick meeeee - I love Newfies I should add that absolutely, if you are happy to skip the puppy stage, go for it! I've taken on a couple of adult Saints and successfully integrated them with my other pets. They were already well socialised and happy little munchkins. Ask the breeder if you can trial the dog first.

  16. I don't understand why you would let your dogs rush towards an entire male staffy who has already showed anti social towards your BF's dog Would you not just walk away as Ricky's owner did and divert their attention? I do have breed prejudice's, TBH though any off leash dog makes me nervous. I've had a few bad experiences, and I've also had a dog badly frighten someone else before, so I just tend to steer clear altogether. I more get nervous about wearing the blame should anything happen and it wasn't even my fault. I've paid the price before because of breed not deed and am now very aware of keeping my dogs safe from wearing any blame. Any dogs approach me they'll get "shoo'ed" off any way necessary.
  17. Ah shoot, another old thread - it's starting to get annoying.
  18. Picking up a pup when it's naughty is only rewarding it.
  19. Most do, some don't. You'll just need to call around and ask.
  20. Espinay, what do you think the main differences are between Maremma and Pyrs? (aside from size).
  21. errr.... Simon got stuck in the work storeroom this week between two boxes and kept shuffling backwards then forward then back again then forward trying to get out...this went on for a good minute. Have you ever seen that scene from Austen Powers were he tries to back the yellow cart out of the corridor? that was Simon. He's not a problem solver. But I would love to teach him to skate as he would like that. I think Simon is going to be more of an athlete then an intellectual. The BB in the clip is awesome though and gives me hope! Beautiful looking dog too. Clearly he's gifted, I hope you can keep up with him being a mere human and all I can remember when Mildred would realise she was stuck - she would freeze then you could see her brain ticking over and she would reverse in slow motion - very funny sight!
  22. Could you call your local vet and see if anyone there does in home boarding? If you were closer I'd be happy to mind him for you, I really feel for you you're in an awful situation.
