I'm so sorry Pheebs, I know how much you loved Tess
  3. My theory is that if they have the desexing tattoo that my dogs are more likely to go to rescue should I not be able to collect them from the pound (which would never happen, lol).
  4. oops sorry, I didn't read this. Perhaps PM a breeder and ask them for more precise amounts. Have they been wormed?
  5. It would be more easily determined if we had photos I wouldnt know exact amounts I just make up what I think and when they've finished the feeding frenzy I take the food away and you can gauge each feed from what they've eaten.
  6. It's quite a common Border Collie thing. Perhaps have a think about a containment system. Unless you've got high fencing your Border can jump farm fencing anyway and the hedge will take some time to grow. My brothers Border used to this. After years of me nagging them they have finally invested in one and couldn't be happier.
  7. Sorry for your loss, he was a lovely looking boy.
  8. Who's OES? *eek* all that coat! Do they show it? I'm in awe - both gorgeous dogs!
  9. Pug! TBH I think most dogs will like you said, but Spitz tend to yap a lot and may get over excited by all the wildlife and yap yap yap. I think Pugs are usually a friend to all so less likely to attack wild life plus great with kids. A spitz coat on acreage will be extra work too. Any Terrier would be the last dog I would choose for your situation, there are of course always exceptions.
  10. I'm so sorry, what a fitting tribute to such a wonderful dog
  11. IMO, neither of these things will be of immediate assistance to a very inexperienced owner of a boisterous stafford puppy! Where did I say they would be?
  12. Invest in a crate! It's the only thing that has stopped me for strangling my own dog.
  13. Well, I believe that desexing does help. It's not the be all and end all of training problems but it does help take the edge off and lessen the drive. Have you tried a water spray bottle? Turning your back? I know where you're coming from so I would definitely re direct his energy asap. Could you get a phone consult with someone reputable to tide you over til Feb? Try K9 Pro.
  14. I got mine from Ruthless Leather. I love it, it is soooooooooo soft and always gets comments!
  15. I'm not sure how the others work, but I know with the Kumalong that it really needs to be quite fitted across the shoulders at the side.
  16. Sas, what brand have you got? I've got the Kumalong and it doesn't slip at all. I was a bit skeptical about their efficacy but they are amazing. I am going to the post office today and can loan you one of mine if you like. Although I think it's a medium which might be too big?
  17. Oh no Did you lose all of them Trish? Could they get up high? I'm only wondering as I am struggling with my coop flooding too. Im sorry for your loss, the kids must be devastated.
  18. Poor thing, you could see it cowering as soon as it had to go back near the judging table.
